On a zero order approximation of an asymptotic solution for a singularly perturbed linear-quadratic control problem with discontinuous coefficients

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем, 2010
The paper deals with a formalism of constructing a zero order approximation of an asymptotic solution for a singularly perturbed linear-quadratic optimal control problem with discontinuous coefficients. This formalism is based on immediate substituting a

An Lp-Estimate for Weak Solutions of Elliptic Equations

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
We prove an Lp-a priori bound, p>2, for solutions of second order linear elliptic partial differential equations in divergence form with discontinuous coefficients in unbounded domains.

A maximum principle for linear elliptic systems with discontinuous coefficients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
summary:We prove a maximum principle for linear second order elliptic systems in divergence form with discontinuous coefficients under a suitable condition on the dispersion of the eigenvalues of the coefficients ...

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

The Existence of Strong Solutions for a Class of Stochastic Differential Equations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Differential Equations, 2018
In this paper, we will consider the existence of a strong solution for stochastic differential equations with discontinuous drift coefficients. More precisely, we study a class of stochastic differential equations when the drift coefficients are an ...

Dirichlet problem for divergence form elliptic equations with discontinuous coefficients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We study the Dirichlet problem for linear elliptic second order partial differential equations with discontinuous coefficients in divergence form in unbounded domains. We establish an existence and uniqueness result and we prove an a priori bound in L^p,

Designing Polymer Nanocomposites for X‐Ray Shielding: Mechanisms, Architectures, and Scalable Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights advances in lightweight, lead‐free polymer nanocomposites for diagnostic X‐ray shielding. By linking filler chemistry, dispersion, architecture, and photon interaction mechanisms, it establishes structure–performance relationships guiding material design.

Gradient estimates for a class of higher-order elliptic equations of p-growth over a nonsmooth domain

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis
This article is devoted to a global Calderón-Zygmund estimate in the framework of Lorentz spaces for the mm-order gradients of weak solution to a higher-order elliptic equation with pp-growth.

General Riemann-Hilbert problem with discontinuous coefficients for Moisil-Theodoresco system with junior members

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 1997
For Moisil–Theodoresco system with junior members a problem of new type, called Riemann–Hilbert problem with discontinuous coefficients, is considered. Under certain conditions this problem is proved to have Fredholm property for the mentioned system.

Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.
