On the performance of a discrete time RAKE
11th IEEE International Symposium on Personal Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications. PIMRC 2000. Proceedings (Cat. No.00TH8525), 2002A discrete time implementation of the RAKE receiver (DTR) is proposed. The suggested approach works without knowledge of the path delays and their number. It is based on a global estimation of the multipath channel convolutioned with the shaping filter.

Discrete-time differential systems
Signal Processing, 2015In this paper we formulate a coherent discrete-time signals and systems theory taking derivative concepts as basis. Two derivatives - nabla (forward) and delta (backward) - are defined and generalized to fractional orders, obtaining two formulations that are discrete versions of the well-known Grunwald-Letnikov derivatives.

1989
To realize a discrete-time filter with either computer software, a programmable DSP chip, or custom VLSI, a network must be specified describing the computations to be performed. For software realizations, the network corresponds to a flowchart of the filter algorithm, while for hardware realizations, the network describes the actual circuit elements ...

Continuous and Discrete Time Models
1987Most economists recognize that the use of discrete time is only an approximation, but assume (usually implicitly) that the error of approximation involved is trivially small relative to the other sorts of simplification and approximation inherent in economic theorizing.

Discrete-Time Insurance Models
Moscow University Mathematics Bulletin, 2023The subject of the paper is a study of some insurance company ruin probability model in discrete time. The time-periods are the ones related to the sequential arrivals of claims and the perception of them both by an insurance and a reinsurance company.

Discrete-Time Ordering Policies
IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1979Optimum ordering policies are discussed for units with discrete failure-time distributions. The results can include a negative ordering time. Under certain conditions, there exists a finite and unique optimum policy minimizing the s-expected cost rate.

Linearization of Discrete-Time Systems
SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1996The paper deals with discrete-time nonlinear systems of the form \(x(k+1) = f(x(k), u(k))\) with \(x(\cdot) \in \mathbb{R}^n\) and \(u(\cdot) \in \mathbb{R}^m\) and \(f\) an analytic map. Using an algebraic formalism based on tools from difference algebra and exterior differential systems, a characterization of accessibility of the system is found ...

Impulse Control in Discrete Time
gmj, 2008Abstract We present here impulse control theory in discrete time. We show the connection between quasi-variational inequalities (QVI) in this context, with the standard formulation of dynamic programming. We show that the QVI formulation brings many interesting features, completing the standard formulation of dynamic programming.

Surveillance in Discrete Time Series
2018The analysis of low integer-valued time series is an area of growing interest as time series of counts arising from many different areas have become available in the last three decades. Statistical quality control, computer science, economics and finance, medicine and epidemiology and environmental sciences are just some of the fields that we can ...
