Single kick approximations for beam-beam deflections

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 1999
A six-dimensional symplectic beam-beam interaction map using finite discrete slices of a strong beam is extended to infinitesimal slices. The new map is calculated under the assumption of a longitudinal Gaussian distribution with approximations.

Discrete-Time Semi-Markov Random Evolutions in Asymptotic Reduced Random Media with Applications

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
This paper deals with discrete-time semi-Markov random evolutions (DTSMRE) in reduced random media. The reduction can be done for ergodic and non ergodic media.

L2-Error Estimates of the Extrapolated Crank-Nicolson Discontinuous Galerkin Approximations for Nonlinear Sobolev Equations

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2010
We analyze discontinuous Galerkin methods with penalty terms, namely, symmetric interior penalty Galerkin methods, to solve nonlinear Sobolev equations.

An Efficient Method for Approximation of Non-Rational Transfer Functions [PDF]

open access: yesElectronics, 2013
A method for rational approximation of linear fractional order systems (LFOS) is presented in the present paper. The method is computationally efficient, flexible and effective, as is illustrated by numerous examples.

Finite element analysis for microscale heat equation with Neumann boundary conditions [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Numerical Analysis and Optimization
In this paper, we explore the numerical analysis of the microscale heat equation. We present the characteristics of numerical solutions obtained through both semi- and fully-discrete linear finite element methods.

Approximate calculation of 8-point DCT for various scenarios of practical applications

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2021
In this paper, based on the parametric model of the matrix of discrete cosine transform (DCT), and using an exhaustive search of the parameters’ space, we seek for the best approximations of 8-point DCT at the given computational complexities by taking ...

Accuracy of Approximation for Discrete Distributions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics, 2016
The paper is a contribution to the problem of estimating the deviation of two discrete probability distributions in terms of the supremum distance between their generating functions over the interval [0,1]. Deviation can be measured by the difference of the kth terms or by total variation distance.

Error estimates of finite element methods for nonlinear fractional stochastic differential equations

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2018
In this paper, we consider the Galerkin finite element approximations of the initial value problem for the nonlinear fractional stochastic partial differential equations with multiplicative noise.

The split step theta balanced numerical approximations of stochastic time varying Hopfield neural networks with distributed delays

open access: yesResults in Control and Optimization, 2023
In this paper, split step theta balanced Euler approximations for stochastic time-varying delay Hopfield neural networks (HNN) with distributed delays are examined for their exponential stability and strong convergence.
