ECG synthesis via discrete cosine transform [PDF]

open access: yesImages of the Twenty-First Century. Proceedings of the Annual International Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2003
Results on the modeling and synthesis of the electrocardiogram (ECG) from its component waves after a suitable transformation are presented. The transformed components add up to the transform of the complete beat and thus allow synthesis of the ECG. Pole-zero modeling of the transformed signals by the Shanks method proved very successful. >

Clean Up Behind You ‐ Novel Patterning Approach for Solid Immersion Lenses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A focused ion beam (FIB) milling strategy enables rapid fabrication of solid immersion lenses (SILs) with smooth, debris‐free surfaces eliminating the need for post‐processing. The optimized pattern improves efficiency and surface quality. SILs containing NV centers are also investigated, confirming the technique's suitability for quantum and photonic ...

Cyclic Wiener Filtering Algorithm in Discrete Cosine Transform Domain for Vibration Signal

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
In order to solve the problem that the effect of using cyclic Wiener filter directly to remove the noise on the non-stationary vibration signal is poor, the paper applies discrete cosine transform to the cyclic Wiener filter, proposing the cyclic Wiener ...

A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.

Detection of electrocardiogram atrial fibrillation using modified multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis based on discrete transforms and fractional Fourier transform

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the most common cause of death. Electrocardiography (ECG) is a preferred non-invasive method for detecting heart diseases. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common cardiac disease.

Asymmetric color image encryption and compression based on discrete cosine transform in Fresnel domain

open access: yesResults in Optics, 2020
In this paper, a new asymmetric method is presented to encrypt and compress color images using discrete cosine transform in Fresnel domain. First, the input color image is decomposed into three channels: red, green and blue.

The Discrete Cosine Transform on Triangles [PDF]

open access: yesICASSP 2019 - 2019 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2019
The discrete cosine transform is a valuable tool in analysis of data on undirected rectangular grids, like images. In this paper it is shown how one can define an analogue of the discrete cosine transform on triangles. This is done by combining algebraic signal processing theory with a specific kind of multivariate Chebyshev polynomials.

Intelligent Acousto‐Electrical Metamaterials (IAM) for Sound Source Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Our proposed metamaterial concept enables sound source detection using a single material, in contrast to conventional arrays that require dozens or even hundreds of transducers. We show that the coupled acoustic–vibrational–electrical responses in piezoelectric metamaterials give rise to topology‐governed charge transport, producing distinct voltage ...

Electrically Assisted Thermal Stamping of Tunable Carbon‐Based Nanofilms for Direct Fabrication of Hydrophobic, Energy Harvesting, and Sensing Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the electrically assisted thermal stamping (EATS) method for direct fabrication of carbon‐based nanofilms and their multifunctional applications. Localized Joule heating triggers simultaneous exfoliation, reduction, and fluoropolymer incorporation under ambient conditions, yielding tunable carbon‐based thin‐film coatings ...
