Error Estimates for Local Discontinuous Galerkin Methods for Linear Fourth-order Equations

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology, 2021
This paper studies the stability and error estimates of the local discontinuous Galerkin method for fourth-order linear partial differential equations based on upwind-biased fluxes. Consider using the semi-discrete form of numerical format in the spatial

A new type of identification problems: optimizing the fractional order in a nonlocal evolution equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we consider a rather general linear evolution equation of fractional type, namely a diffusion type problem in which the diffusion operator is the $s$th power of a positive definite operator having a discrete spectrum in $\R^+$.

Analysis of Compatible Discrete Operator Schemes for the Stokes Equations on Polyhedral Meshes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Compatible Discrete Operator schemes preserve basic properties of the continuous model at the discrete level. They combine discrete differential operators that discretize exactly topological laws and discrete Hodge operators that approximate constitutive

Weighted periodic and discrete pseudo-differential Operators

open access: yesMonatshefte für Mathematik
In this paper, we study elements of symbolic calculus for pseudo-differential operators associated with the weighted symbol class $M_{ρ, Λ}^m(\mathbb{ T}\times \mathbb{Z})$ (associated to a suitable weight function $Λ$ on $\mathbb{Z}$) by deriving formulae for the asymptotic sums, composition, adjoint, transpose. We also construct the parametrix of $M$-

Half-discrete Hilbert-type inequalities involving differential operators [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2014
Abstract Motivated by some recent results, in this paper we derive several half-discrete Hilbert-type inequalities with a homogeneous kernel involving some differential operators. The main results are proved for the case of non-conjugate parameters.

Discrete Darboux transformation for discrete polynomials of hypergeometric type

open access: yes, 1998
Darboux Transformation, well known in second order differential operator theory, is applied here to the difference equation satisfied by the discrete hypergeometric polynomials(Charlier, Meixner-Krawchuk, Hahn)

Constrained Controllability of the h-Difference Fractional Control Systems with Caputo Type Operator

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2015
The problem of controllability to a given convex target set of linear fractional systems with h-difference fractional operator of Caputo type is studied. Necessary and sufficient conditions of controllability with constrained controllers for such systems

On Discrete Symmetries of the Multi-Boson KP Hierarchies

open access: yes, 1993
We show that the multi-boson KP hierarchies possess a class of discrete symmetries linking them to the discrete Toda systems. These discrete symmetries are generated by the similarity transformation of the corresponding Lax operator.

Non-Commutative Differential Geometry and Standard Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
We incorporate Sogami's idea in the standard model into our previous formulation of non-commutative differential geometry by extending the action of the extra exterior derivative operator on spinors defined over the discrete space-time; four dimensinal ...

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
