Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Discrete Wavelet Multi-Tone Transmission for Digital Subscriber Line

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2005
Multi-Carrier Modulation (MCM) is an attractive technique for copper wire access technology in high-performance communication networks (e.g. Asymmetric and Very-high-rate Digital Subscriber Line). In digital implementations of MCM, subcarrier generation

Trap‐Modified Inverted Organic Photodetectors via Layer‐by‐Layer Processing with Poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) Additives

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Trap state engineering in inverted organic photodetectors (OPDs) is achieved via combined layer‐by‐layer (LbL) processing and poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK) incorporation. LbL reduces the trap density while PVK additives gradually shift trap states from shallow band‐edge to deep mid‐gap levels, tailoring the energy distribution.

Transmission of 100-Gb/s VSB DFT-Spread DMT Signal in Short-Reach Optical Communication Systems

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2015
In this paper, we experimentally demonstrated transmission of a 100-Gb/s discrete Fourier transform (DFT)-spread 32-quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) discrete multitone (DMT) signal in an intensity-modulation/direct-detection system utilizing a ...

Alkali Ion‐Incorporated HfO2 Dielectrics for Reconfigurable Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) transistor with an alkali cation‐integrated hafnium dioxide (HfO2) dielectric exhibiting synaptic behavior via ion retention. The solution‐based film fabrication strategy overcomes the limitations of atomic layer deposition (ALD) and precursor coating, enabling the control of synaptic retention ...

Calculus of the Power Spectral Density of Ultra Wide Band Pulse Position Modulation Signals Coded with Totally Flipped Code

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2009
UWB-PPM systems were noted to have a power spectral density (p.s.d.) consisting of a continuous portion and a line spectrum, which is composed of energy components placed at discrete frequencies.

Spectral function modulation based on nonlinear frequency division multiplexing

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
A combination of phase and amplitude modulation in nonlinear discrete spectrum is proposed based on nonlinear frequency division multiplexing. Here the integrable nonlinear Schrodinger equation is used as the channel model.

Circular‐Polarization‐Sensitive Organic Photodetectors with a Chiral Nanopatterned Electrode Inverse‐Designed by Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A chiral photodetector capable of selectively distinguishing left‐ and right‐handed circularly polarized light is experimentally demonstrated. The device, which features a nanopatterned electrode inverse‐designed by a genetic algorithm within a metal–dielectric–metal nanocavity that incorporates a vacuum‐deposited small‐molecule multilayer, exhibits ...
