Non-invertible symmetries from discrete gauging and completeness of the spectrum [PDF]
We study global 1- and ( d − 2)-form symmetries for gauge theories based on disconnected gauge groups which include charge conjugation. For pure gauge theories, the 1-form symmetries are shown to be non-invertible.

Symmetries of the discrete Burgers equation [PDF]
Summary: A discrete Cole-Hopf transformation is used to derive a discrete Burgers equation that is linearizable to a discrete heat equation. A five-dimensional symmetry algebra is obtained that reduces to the Lie point symmetry algebra of the usual Burgers equation in the continuous limit. This Lie algebra is used to obtain explicit invariant solutions.

Discrete symmetries of functional determinants [PDF]
We study discrete (duality) symmetries of functional determinants. An exact transformation of the effective action under the inversion of background fields $ (x) \to ^{-1}(x)$ is found. We show that in many cases this inversion does not change functional determinants.

Discrete symmetries, weak coupling conjecture and scale separation in AdS vacua [PDF]
We argue that in theories of quantum gravity with discrete gauge symmetries, e.g. Zk , the gauge couplings of U(1) gauge symmetries become weak in the limit of large k, as g → k−α with α a positive order 1 coefficient.

κ -deformed complex fields and discrete symmetries [PDF]
We present a construction of $\kappa$-deformed complex scalar field theory with the objective of shedding light on the way discrete symmetries and CPT invariance are affected by the deformation.

Twisted Boundary Condition and Lieb-Schultz-Mattis Ingappability for Discrete Symmetries. [PDF]
We discuss quantum many-body systems with lattice translation and discrete on-site symmetries. We point out that, under a boundary condition twisted by a symmetry operation, there is an exact degeneracy of ground states if the unit cell forms a ...

Global anomalies, discrete symmetries and hydrodynamic effective actions [PDF]
We derive effective actions for parity-violating fluids in both (3 + 1) and (2 + 1) dimensions, including those with anomalies. As a corollary we confirm the most general constitutive relations for such systems derived previously using other methods.

2-Group symmetries and their classification in 6d
We uncover 2-group symmetries in 6d superconformal field theories. These symmetries arise when the discrete 1-form symmetry and continuous flavor symmetry group of a theory mix with each other.

Gravity and Discrete Symmetry [PDF]
Using the differential calculus on discrete group, we study the general relativity in the space-time which is the product of a four dimensional manifold by a two-point space. We generalize the usual concept of frame and connection in our space-time, and from the generalized torsion free condition we obtain an action of a scalar field coupled to ...

TASI Lectures on Abelian and Discrete Symmetries in F-theory [PDF]
In F-theory compactifications, the abelian gauge sector is encoded in global structures of the internal geometry. These structures lie at the intersection of algebraic and arithmetic description of elliptic fibrations: While the Mordell--Weil lattice is ...
