Design Strategies and Emerging Applications of High‐Performance Flexible Piezoresistive Pressure Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Flexible piezoresistive pressure sensors underpin wearable and soft electronics. This review links sensing physics, including contact resistance modulation, quantum tunneling and percolation, to unified materials/structure design. We highlight composite and graded architectures, interfacial/porous engineering, and microstructured 3D conductive networks

A Physiological Microfluidic Blood–Brain‐Barrier Model for In Vitro Study of Nanoparticle Trafficking and Accumulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A human microfluidic blood‐brain barrier (mBBB) model enables spatially resolved comparison of nanoparticle trafficking. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), liposomes, and nanoplastics exhibit distinct transport and disruption behaviors, revealing that membrane composition and uptake pathways govern BBB interaction.

From Social Peace to Code of Silence: The social ethics of sutura in Senegal

open access: yesCadernos de Estudos Africanos, 2023
Normally translated as discretion, sutura is an important local value in Senegal. Its protective regime starts with the idea that being discreet has an inherent social value. In its ideal dimension it is said to be a warranty for social peace. Its rather

The Practice of Discretion in Implementing Forest-Rehabilitation Policy in Forest Management Unit

open access: yesJournal of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, 2019
This study analyzed the implementation of discretion in forest and land rehabilitation policy (RHL) on street-level bureaucracy (SLB). The study conducted at Forest Management Unit (KPHL) Rinjani Barat, used Michael Lipsky's conception about street-level

On Characterization of Discrete Triangles by Discrete Moments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
For a given real triangle T its discretization on a discrete point set S consists of points from S which fall into T. If the number of such points is finite, the obtained discretization of T will be called discrete triangle.

Unstitching Scarlet Letters?: Prosecutorial Discretion and Expungement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This Article argues that scholarly discussions about prosecutorial discretion need to extend their focus beyond the exercise of prosecutorial judgment pretrial or questions of factual and legal guilt. Given that the primary role of the prosecutoris to do

A Multidirectional Textile Interface for Remote Control Using Dynamic Area‐Based Capacitance Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Here, we present a textile, wearable capacitive interface enabling multidirectional remote control by dynamically modulating electrode overlap and spacing via a freely gliding upper electrode. A forearm‐mounted prototype drives robotic and media tasks with 12–15 ms latency, maintains < 0.8% drift after 500 cycles, and remains stably functional at 90 ...

Law enforcement agents at European borders: perceptions of migration, and the networked and relational exercise of discretion in policy implementation

open access: yesPolitical Research Exchange
Law enforcement agents (LEAs) operating at the forefront of European borders play a crucial role in the implementation of migration policies. As frontline actors, LEAs are often perceived as powerful agents who enforce legislation and determine who is ...

Police Discretion in Traffic Criminal Cases Committed by Children

open access: yesIus Poenale, 2020
Traffic crimes committed by children generally occur because of negligence. The problem of this research is how the implementation of police discretion in traffic criminal cases committed by children and why there are obstacles in the implementation of ...
