Cardiac Arrhythmias In Congenital Heart Diseases

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal, 2009
Arrhythmias figure prominently among the complications encountered in the varied and diverse population of patients with congenital heart disease, and are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality. The incidence generally increases as the patient ages,

Cardiac sarcoidosis presenting as multiple right intra-atrial masses mimicking cardiac tumor

open access: yesCardio-Oncology
Background Cardiac sarcoidosis though in itself, a rare entity, very rarely presents primarily with conduction abnormalities as the primary manifestation in the spectrum of presentations accounted by this chronic granulomatous systemic disease ...

Arrhythmia susceptibility in senescent rat hearts

open access: yesJournal of Biological Research, 2014
Cardiovascular disease increases with age as well as alterations of cardiac electrophysiological properties, but a detailed knowledge about changes in cardiac electrophysiology relevant to arrhythmogenesis in the elderly is relatively lacking. The aim of

Lineages of the Cardiac Conduction System

open access: yes, 2017
The cardiac conduction system (CCS) initiates and coordinately propagates the electrical impulse to orchestrate the heartbeat. It consists of a set of interconnected components with shared properties.

Coaxially Electrospun Myocardial dECM‐ Based Nanofibrous Scaffolds Demonstrate Enhanced Cardiomyocyte Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Our coaxial electrospinning system is capable of incorporating decellularized myocardial extracellular matrix in a core‐sheath configuration, creating nanofibrous scaffolds. These scaffolds, in turn, support the maintenance of functional cardiomyocytes adhered to the surface of these bioactive scaffolds.

Generation of an iPSC cell line (VANYHHi001-A) from a patient with cardiac arrythmias carrying CACNA1D, SCN5A, and DSP variants

open access: yesStem Cell Research
Progressive cardiac conduction defect often associated with variants in sodium voltage-gated channel SCN5A gene and variants in the L-type calcium voltage-gated channel CACNA1D gene are implicated in sinoatrial node dysfunction.

Utility of the NavX® Electroanatomic Mapping System for Permanent Pacemaker Implantation in a Pregnant Patient with Chagas Disease

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal, 2013
Chagas disease is a highly prevalent zoonosis in Mexico, Central, and South America. Early cardiac involvement is one of the most serious complications of this disease, and conduction disturbances may occur at an early age.
