TRIM25 facilitates mitochondrial dysfunction and extracellular matrix degradation by enhancing USP7‐driven ENO1 deubiquitination during intervertebral disc degeneration

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
Under conditions of low TRIM25 expression, the ubiquitination fate of ENO1 shifts to K48‐linked ubiquitination and degradation. TRIM25 enhances the deubiquitination of ENO1 by recruiting USP7, effectively inhibiting its proteasomal degradation and significantly increasing ENO1 stabilization.
