DISEASES OF THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM: PRIMARY DISABLEMENT IN THE IRKUTSK REGION

open access: yesActa Biomedica Scientifica, 2017
Materials and methods. The population-based cohort analysis was performed of the database of primary disabled in Irkutsk region due to the DDS for the period of 2013-2015. Morbidity rate of primary disablement was calculated for 10 000 of the population;

Immune complexes in chronic Chagas disease patients are formed by exovesicles from Trypanosoma cruzi carrying the conserved MASP N-terminal region [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The exovesicles (EVs) are involved in pathologic host-parasite immune associations and have been recently used as biomarkers for diagnosis of infectious diseases.

Cystatin A promotes the antitumor activity of T helper type 1 cells and dendritic cells in murine models of pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a disease with very poor prognosis due to therapeutic limitations. We investigated the antitumor effects of cystatin A (CSTA) in PDAC murine models. We are first to confirm that CSTA enhances T helper type 1‐mediated antitumor effects through promotion of dendritic cells and M1 macrophage activity. CSTA can be

The Operating Diagram for a Two-Step Anaerobic Digestion Model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The Anaerobic Digestion Model No. 1 (ADM1) is a complex model which is widely accepted as a common platform for anaerobic process modeling and simulation. However, it has a large number of parameters and states that hinder its analytical study. Here, we consider the two-step reduced model of anaerobic digestion (AM2) which is a four-dimensional system ...

In situ digestion of canola protein gel observed by synchrotron X-Ray Scattering [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We address the issue of structure changes of a canola protein gel (as a solid food model) during gastrointestinal digestion. We present a method for synchrotron Small-Angle X-ray Scattering analysis of the digestion of a gel in a capillary. Scanning the capillary allows tracking the digestion under diffusion of enzymatic juices.

Multiplex single‐cell profiling of putative cancer stem cell markers ALDH1, SOX9, SOX2, CD44, CD133 and CD15 in endometrial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cancer stem cells are associated with aggressive disease, but a deep characterization of such markers is lacking in endometrial cancer. This study uses imaging mass cytometry to explore putative cancer stem cell markers in endometrial tumors and corresponding organoid models.

Analysis of the actual nutrition status of servicemen of the Transcarpathian region who participated in the ATO and its influence on the development of the pathology of the digestive organs

open access: yesJournal of Geography, Politics and Society, 2018
The influence of lifestyle factors, namely rationality of nutrition, on the health of the population is the strongest relative to other risk factors that may be manifested by the development and complication of diseases of the digestive system. This gain

Peripheral blood proteome biomarkers distinguish immunosuppressive features of cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immune status significantly influences cancer progression. This study used plasma proteomics to analyze benign 67NR and malignant 4T1 breast tumor models at early and late tumor stages. Immune‐related proteins–osteopontin (Spp1), lactotransferrin (Ltf), calreticulin (Calr) and peroxiredoxin 2 (Prdx2)–were associated with systemic myeloid‐derived ...
