This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.

Si‐doped AlCoCrFeNi high‐entropy alloys are synthesized by mechanical alloying to reveal the effect of Si content and milling time on phase evolution, microstructural refinement, and tribological behavior. A transition from FCC to BCC structure, significant grain refinement, and enhanced hardness and wear resistance are achieved, with the 4 at% Si ...

Antibiotic Resistance in Enterococcus faecalis Isolated from Hospitalized Patients
Background and aims. Enterococci are Gram-positive cocci that often occur in pairs (diplococci) or short chains. Beside developing high level of antibiotic resistance, these bacteria can cause wide range of disease in human, thus to help provide an ...

Mezlocillin: tentative interpretive standards for disk diffusion susceptibility testing [PDF]
The susceptibility of 447 clinical bacterial isolates to mezlocillin and carbenicillin was tested by standardized agar disk diffusion and reference broth micro-dilution methods. Tentative interpretive criteria for disk susceptibility testing by using 75 micrograms mezlocillin disks are proposed: susceptible, greater than or equal to 16 mm ...

Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Introduction: Clindamycin is an excellent drug for skin and soft tissue Staphylococcus aureus infections, but resistance mediated by inducible macrolide-lincosamide-streptogramin B (iMLS B ) phenotype leads to in vivo therapeutic failure even though they

Patterns of Antibiotic Resistance in Staphylococcus aureus Isolates and Detection the Heteroresistance to Vancomycin by Population analysis Method [PDF]
Staphylococcus aureus is a major cause of bacterial poisoning and spread widely in Iraq. In this study vancomycin resistant S. aureus (VRSA) were isolated from wounds, skin, and nose of human .

Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...
