Fano resonances in the corrugated disk resonator and their applications [PDF]
We have experimentally excited terahertz multipolar Fano resonances in two asymmetrical metal particles: a defective corrugated metallic disk(CMD) structure and a hybrid structure consisted of a C-shaped resonator and a CMD. Furthermore, the Fano resonance modes can also be excited by the interaction between plasmonic waveguide and CMD.

Development of a Novel Gear-like Disk Resonator Applied in Gyroscope
This paper proposes a novel gear-like disk resonator (GDR). The design, fabrication, and characterization of GDR are presented. In comparison with a ring-like disk resonator (RDR), a GDR replaces the circular rings with meander-shaped rings consisting of

Influence of the Surface Roughness of a Silicon Disk Resonator on Its Q-Factor
This article presents a silicon disk resonator of the whispering-gallery-mode (WGM) type. The calculated Q-factor of the silicon WGM resonator was 107. Two methods of studying the surface roughness of a silicon WGM resonator with a nonlinear profile by ...

Excitation of forced modes in the dielectric disk resonator-diffraction grating system [PDF]
In this work the strip-like diffraction grating influence on the spectrum of “whispering gallery” modes of the disk dielectric resonator was studied experimentally. The conditions of single-mode excitation in a wide frequency range had been defined.

Plasmofluidic Disk Resonators [PDF]
AbstractWaveguide-coupled silicon ring or disk resonators have been used for optical signal processing and sensing. Large-scale integration of optical devices demands continuous reduction in their footprints, and ultimately they need to be replaced by silicon-based plasmonic resonators.

Neptune’s resonances in the scattered disk [PDF]
The Scattered Disk Objects (SDOs) are thought to be a small fraction of the ancient population of leftover planetesimals in the outer solar system that were gravitationally scattered by the giant planets and have managed to survive primarily by capture and sticking in Neptune's exterior mean motion resonances (MMRs).
