INTERLOCKING RESONANCE PATTERNS IN GALAXY DISKS [PDF]
We have developed a method for finding dynamical resonances in disk galaxies using the change in sense of the radial component of the in-plane velocity at a resonance radius. Using simulations we show that we would expect to find these changes at corotation radii, with a weaker effect at the ILR and a small effect at the OLR. The method works well with

Dual-Narrowband/Wideband Filters Using Modified Coaxial Cavities With Large Frequency Ratios
This article presents two types of dual-narrowband/ wideband filters using modified coaxial cavities with large frequency ratios. The dual-narrowband/ wideband filters mean two dual-band bandpass filters, one of which is a dual-band ...

Internal and external resonances of dielectric disks [PDF]
Circular microresonators (microdisks) are micron sized dielectric disks embedded in a material of lower refractive index. They possess modes with complex eigenvalues (resonances) which are solutions of analytically given transcendental equations. The behavior of such eigenvalues in the small opening limit, i.e.

Structural Analysis of Disk Resonance Gyroscope [PDF]
In this paper, we present two design methods to improve the performance of disk resonator gyroscope (DRG), including decreasing the frequency split and increasing the quality factor (Q). The structure parameters, which can affect the frequency split and Q value were concluded with the help of the FEM software.

PARTICULARITIES OF INTER-TYPE INTERACTION IN DISK QUASIOPTICAL DIELECTRIC RESONATOR IN THE CASE OF INTERNAL EXCITATION OF PARASITIC OSCILLATIONS [PDF]
Disc dielectric resonators with whispering gallery modes are usually characterized by high Q-factor, nevertheless, dense spectrum of these oscillation is the factor which impedes their use as microwave elements.

Collective Modes in the Luminescent Response of Si Nanodisk Chains with Embedded GeSi Quantum Dots
In this paper, we study the effects of GeSi quantum dot emission coupling with the collective modes in the linear chains of Si disk resonators positioned on an SiO2 layer.

FDTD modelling of mid infrared disk lasers [PDF]
This paper presents 2D FDTD modelling of a disk resonator that could be used as a disk laser. Results are shown for mode spacing and good agreement with a simple Whispering Gallery Mode model is observed.

Resonators made of a disk and a movable continuous-membrane
Microcavities are used for resonantly enhanced interactions of light with matter or particles. Usually, the resonator’s sensitivity drops down with every particle attached to its interface due to the inherent scattering losses and the corresponding ...
