Dislocation and fracture-dislocation of the hip [PDF]
Of 54 patients with posterior dislocations of the hip of type I and type II (Stewart and Milford 1954), 47 were followed for a mean period of 6.7 years (2 to 11). Of these, 23 had dislocation with minimal lesions of the acetabulum (type I) and 24 had an avulsed dorsocranial fragment (type II). All were reduced by closed methods within six hours.

Dislocations in graphene [PDF]
We study the stability and evolution of various elastic defects in a flat graphene sheet and the electronic properties of the most stable configurations. Two types of dislocations are found to be stable: "glide" dislocations consisting of heptagon-pentagon pairs, and "shuffle" dislocations, an octagon with a dangling bond.

Statistical dynamics of dislocation systems: The influence of dislocation-dislocation correlations [PDF]
During plastic deformation of crystalline materials, the collective dynamics of interacting dislocations gives rise to various patterning phenomena. A crucial and still open question is whether the long range dislocation-dislocation interactions which do not have an intrinsic range can lead to spatial patterns which may exhibit well-defined ...

Scale-free phase field theory of dislocations [PDF]
According to recent experimental and numerical investigations if the characteristic size of a specimen is in the submicron size regime several new interesting phenomena emerge during the deformation of the samples.

DISLOCATION AND FRACTURE-DISLOCATION OF THE PELVIS [PDF]
1. Fifty dislocations and fracture-dislocations of the pelvis have been reviewed. 2. Complications were unusual. Two patients with rupture of the bladder died; two with rupture of the urethra survived. Of eight patients with retroperitoneal haemorrhage four died; the treatment advised is controlled blood transfusion maintaining a blood-pressure of ...

Chiral anomaly in Dirac semimetals due to dislocations [PDF]
The dislocation in Dirac semimetal carries an emergent magnetic flux parallel to the dislocation axis. We show that due to the emergent magnetic field the dislocation accommodates a single fermion massless mode of the corresponding low-energy one ...

Posterior Dislocation and Fracture—Dislocation of the Shoulder [PDF]
Two cases of posterior dislocation (PD) and four cases of posterior fracture-dislocation (PFD) of the shoulder are reported. There was one bilateral PD and two bilateral PFD. One PD was treated with closed reduction but in three cases of PFD operative reduction was necessary.

Effect of solute atoms on dislocation motion in Mg: an electronic structure perspective. [PDF]
Solution strengthening is a well-known approach to tailoring the mechanical properties of structural alloys. Ultimately, the properties of the dislocation/solute interaction are rooted in the electronic structure of the alloy. Accordingly, we compute the

DISLOCATION OF THE KNEE AND DISLOCATION OF THE FOOT [PDF]
A case of anterior dislocation of the knee and a case of backward subastragaloid dislocation of the foot with fracture of the astragalus were both seen at the Baltimore City Hospital in the service of Dr. A. C. Harrison, and are reported because of the rarity of the conditions. Dislocations of the knee compose less than 2 per cent. of all dislocations.

Screw dislocations in the field theory of elastoplasticity [PDF]
A (microscopic) static elastoplastic field theory of dislocations with moment and force stresses is considered. The relationship between the moment stress and the Nye tensor is used for the dislocation Lagrangian.
