A Theoretical Model of the Flow Properties of Postprocessed Direct Metal Laser Sintering Ti6Al4V (ELI)

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2022
Heat treatment of direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) Ti6Al4V (ELI) generates different mechanical properties of the alloy depending on the heat treatment cycle adopted.

Stress correlations of dislocations in a double-pileup configuration: a continuum dislocation density approach – complas XII [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Dislocation motion in the crystal lattice of materials is the basis for macroscopic plasticity. While continuum models for describing the role of dislocations in plasticity have existed for decades, only recently have the mathematical tools become ...

TMC4 localizes to multiple taste cell types in the mouse taste papillae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Transmembrane channel‐like 4 (TMC4), a voltage‐dependent chloride channel, plays a critical role in amiloride‐insensitive salty taste transduction. TMC4 is broadly expressed in all mature taste cell types, suggesting a possible involvement of multiple cell types in this pathway.

Topological Defects in Spin Density Waves

open access: yes, 2000
The rich order parameter of Spin Density Waves allows for unusual object of a complex topological nature: a half-integer dislocation combined with a semi-vortex of a staggered magnetization. It becomes energetically preferable to ordinary dislocation due

Down‐regulation of Shh in the hair follicles of mice during chemotherapy‐induced hair loss is mediated by the JAK/STAT1 signaling pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We found that during chemotherapy‐induced alopecia (CIA), Sonic hedgehog (Shh) expression significantly decreased in hair follicle Shh+ cells, whereas the Janus‐activated kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (JAK/STAT1) signaling pathway was markedly activated.

Dislocation cartography: Representations and unsupervised classification of dislocation networks with unique fingerprints

open access: yesAPL Machine Learning
Detecting structure in data is the first step to arrive at meaningful representations for systems. This is particularly challenging for evolving dislocation networks evolving as a consequence of plastic deformation of crystalline materials.

Continuum Representation of Systems of Dislocation Lines: A General Method for Deriving Closed-Form Evolution Equations

open access: yes, 2016
Plasticity is governed by the evolution of, in general anisotropic, systems of dislocations. We seek to faithfully represent this evolution in terms of density-like variables which average over the discrete dislocation microstructure.

FGFR Like1 drives esophageal cancer progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and notch signalling: insights from clinical data and next‐generation sequencing analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

Influence of density of dislocations in Ni and Fe on kinetics of anode process in chloride electrolyte

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2012
Influence of density of dislocations in Ni and Fe on kinetics of anode process in chloride electrolyte was studied. To create the increased density of dislocation this material was deformed by 15 %.
