Microstructure and strength of metals processed by severe plastic deformation [PDF]
The microstructure of f.c.c. metals (Al, Cu, Ni) and alloys (Al-Mg) processed by severe plastic deformation (SPD) methods is studied by X-ray diffraction line profile analysis.

Geometrically necessary dislocation densities in olivine obtained using high-angular resolution electron backscatter diffraction [PDF]
© 2016 The AuthorsDislocations in geological minerals are fundamental to the creep processes that control large-scale geodynamic phenomena. However, techniques to quantify their densities, distributions, and types over critical subgrain to polycrystal ...

Evolution of geometrically necessary dislocation density from computational dislocation dynamics
This paper presents a method for calculating GND densities in dislocation dynamics simulations. Evolution of suitably defined averages of GND density as well as maps showing the spatial nonuniform distribution of GNDs are analyzed under uniaxial loading.

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

We found that during chemotherapy‐induced alopecia (CIA), Sonic hedgehog (Shh) expression significantly decreased in hair follicle Shh+ cells, whereas the Janus‐activated kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (JAK/STAT1) signaling pathway was markedly activated.

Ductile deformation in alumina ceramics under quasi-static to dynamic contact impact
Cr3+ Fluorescence spectroscopy and TEM have been used to study the ductile deformation of alumina ceramics underneath an impact contact. The contact was generated by a spherical tungsten carbide indenter under quasi-static, drop weight and ballistic ...

Large scale ab-initio simulations of dislocations [PDF]
We present a novel methodology to compute relaxed dislocations core configurations, and their energies in crystalline metallic materials using large-scale ab-intio simulations. The approach is based on MacroDFT, a coarse-grained density functional theory

Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

Influence of dislocation density on internal quantum efficiency of GaN-based semiconductors
By considering the effects of stress fields coming from lattice distortion as well as charge fields coming from line charges at edge dislocation cores on radiative recombination of exciton, a model of carriers’ radiative and non-radiative recombination ...

Generalized dynamics of moving dislocations in quasicrystals
A theoretical framework for dislocation dynamics in quasicrystals is provided according to the continuum theory of dislocations. Firstly, we present the fundamental theory for moving dislocations in quasicrystals giving the dislocation density tensors ...
