Structural defects in MOVPE grown CdTe/GaAs [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
This work presents a study of the character and distribution of structural defects in (00l)CdTe buffer layers grown on GaAs substrates by metal organic vapour phase epitaxy (MOVPE).

Dislocation Mobility and Density in Zinc Single Crystals [PDF]

open access: yes, 1965
Experimental measurements of dislocation mobility and density, and the strain-rate sensitivity of the flow stress have been made on 99.999 per cent pure zinc crystals.

A Theoretical Model of the Flow Properties of Postprocessed Direct Metal Laser Sintering Ti6Al4V (ELI)

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2022
Heat treatment of direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) Ti6Al4V (ELI) generates different mechanical properties of the alloy depending on the heat treatment cycle adopted.

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2025.
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

The Use of Ultrasound to Measure Dislocation Density [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Artículo de publicación ISIDislocations are at the heart of the plastic behavior of materials yet they are very difficult to probe experimentally. Lack of a practical nonintrusive measuring tool for, say, dislocation density, seriously hampers modeling ...

Dislocation cartography: Representations and unsupervised classification of dislocation networks with unique fingerprints

open access: yesAPL Machine Learning
Detecting structure in data is the first step to arrive at meaningful representations for systems. This is particularly challenging for evolving dislocation networks evolving as a consequence of plastic deformation of crystalline materials.

The positron and mechanical parameters of a cold-worked aluminum alloy (3004) Using PALT, PADBT and HV**

open access: yesJournal of the Mechanical Behavior of Materials, 2022
In the present work, the influence of plastic deformation on the properties of a 3004 Al-alloy was studied with different techniques. Crystallite size, dislocation density, defect density, micro-strain, and stored dislocation energy are presented and ...

Stress of a Spatially Uniform Dislocation Density Field [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Elasticity, 2019
It can be shown that the stress produced by a spatially uniform dislocation density field in a body comprising a linear elastic material under no loads vanishes. We prove that the same result does not hold in general in the geometrically nonlinear case.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

On the Lightweight Potential of Laser Additive Manufactured NiTi Triply Periodic Minimal Sheet Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the lightweight potential of laser additive‐manufactured NiTi triply periodic minimal surface sheet lattices. It systematically investigates the effects of relative density and unit cell size on surface quality, deformation recovery, compression behavior, and energy absorption.
