Creep Properties and Deformation Mechanism of Additively Manufactured NiAl‐CrMo Composites

Additively manufactured NiAl‐CrMo composites contain numerous interfaces and cell boundaries that control their creep response. At 700°C under high applied stress, creep is dominated by dislocation‐controlled power‐law mechanisms. At 800°C–900°C and lower stresses, creep is primarily diffusion‐controlled along cell boundaries.

Phason Sinks of Radiation Defects in Quasicrystals

Phason sinks of radiation defects in quasicrystals are considered as partial point defects. The kinetics of point defect absorption by single phasons is studied. A model of the dislocation loop with the phason fault under irradiation is developed.

Modeling Dislocation Cutting of γ′ Precipitates in Ni‐Base Superalloys: Linking Atomistic and Dislocation Dynamics Simulations

Dislocation cutting of γ′ precipitates in Ni‐based superalloys is investigated by linking atomistic simulations with discrete dislocation dynamics. The critical cutting stress is shown to be governed by the antiphase boundary energy, while line tension effects promote edge‐preferred cutting.

Suppressed radiation damage by alloying elements mixture: a demonstration in V-Nb-based multi-principal element alloys

Ion irradiation effects are comparatively investigated in V-Nb-based alloys (V-xNb, x = 0–100 at.%) and an equiatomic VNbTaTi quaternary alloy. The smallest defect size and highest defect density are observed in V-50Nb in the binary system.
