Shear Wave Dispersion Slope Measured with Shear Wave Dispersion Imaging Is Associated with Variceal Hemorrhage in Cirrhotic Patients [PDF]
Background and Objectives: Portal hypertension (PH), as the main consequence of cirrhosis, leads to the development of gastroesophageal varices (GEVs). Variceal hemorrhage (VH) caused by the rupture of GEVs is a life-threatening emergency.

Material dispersion slope in optical-fibre waveguides
The slope of the material dispersion dM/dλ at λ0, the material dispersion zero where d2n/dλ2=0, can be calculated to yield values applicable to crystals and glasses. The results, in units of ps/nm km μm, range from 217 for B2O3 and 105 for SiO2 to 9 for TI2O and 0.40 for TlI.

Clinical utilization of shear wave dispersion imaging in diffuse liver disease [PDF]
Shear wave (SW) dispersion imaging is a newly developed imaging technology for assessing the dispersion slope of SWs, which is related to tissue viscosity in diffuse liver disease. Our preclinical and preliminary clinical studies have shown that SW speed
