D-wave Bose-Einstein condensation and the London penetration depth in superconducting cuprates [PDF]
We show that bipolaron formation leads to a d-wave Bose-Einstein condensate in cuprates. It is the bipolaron energy dispersion rather than a particular pairing interaction which is responsible for the d-wave symmetry.

Highly Nonlinear and Low Confinement Loss Photonic Crystal Fiber Using GaP Slot Core
This paper presents a triangular lattice photonic crystal fiber with very high nonlinear coefficient. Finite element method (FEM) is used to scrutinize different optical properties of proposed highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber (HNL-PCF).

Study on Fire Smoke Distribution Characteristics in Mountain Spiral Highway Tunnels
In previous studies on tunnel fires, researchers primarily focus on the impact of a single factor on smoke dispersion characteristics in tunnels, neglecting the combined effects of multiple influencing factors and their mutual interactions.

Negative plasmon dispersion in 2H-NbS2 beyond the charge-density-wave interpretation
We examine the experimental and theoretical electron-energy loss spectra in 2 H - ${\mathrm{Cu}}_{0.2}$ NbS _2 and find that the 1 eV plasmon in this material does not exhibit the regular positive quadratic plasmon dispersion that would be expected for a

Interactions between Activation and Repolarization Restitution Properties in the Intact Human Heart: In-Vivo Whole-Heart Data and Mathematical Description. [PDF]
BACKGROUND:The restitution of the action potential duration (APDR) and conduction velocity (CVR) are mechanisms whereby cardiac excitation and repolarization adapt to changes in heart rate. They modulate the vulnerability to dangerous arrhythmia, but the

A break in the high-redshift stellar mass Tully-Fisher relation
We investigate the stellar-mass Tully-Fisher relation (TFR) between the stellar mass and the integrated gas velocity dispersion, quantified by the kinematic estimator S_0.5 measured from strong emission lines in spectra of galaxies at ...

Influence of Bed Variations on Linear Wave Propagation beyond the Mild Slope Condition
As water waves travel from deep to shallow waters, they experience increased nonlinearity and decreased dispersion due to the reduced water depth.

Dispersion of subsurface lagrangian drifters in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico
The dispersion of subsurface Lagrangian floats by eddies was observed directly in DeSoto Canyon, located in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico. Key elements of dispersion include the capture and release of floats by variations in eddy structure and ...
