Integrated all-pass filters for tunable dispersion and dispersion slope compensation
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 1999New integrated optical all-pass filters are presented that can be used for tunable dispersion compensation, dispersion slope compensation, and as building blocks in tunable bandpass filters. The dispersion slope compensation capability is demonstrated using ring resonators in /spl Delta/=2% Ge-doped silica planar waveguides. In addition, a tunable four-

Sampled fiber grating based-dispersion slope compensator
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 1999We propose a novel design for a compact dispersion slope compensator based on sampled fiber Bragg gratings. By chirping the sample function in a sampled grating, we show that the dispersion slope can be controlled to match that of current transmission fibers.

Tunable Dispersion and Dispersion Slope Compensator Using Strain-Chirped Fiber Bragg Grating
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2007We propose a tunable dispersion and dispersion slope compensator based on induced strain-chirp in a uniform fiber Bragg grating. A specially designed mechanical rotator concatenated with a metal beam with linear thickness variation along its height was used to induce a quadratic strain gradient along the grating.

Reduced dispersion slope, non-zero dispersion fiber
24th European Conference on Optical Communication. ECOC '98 (IEEE Cat. No.98TH8398), 2002A new reduced-dispersion-slope non-zero-dispersion fiber design, optimized for use in DWDM systems is presented. The low dispersion slope, S/sub 0/=0.045 ps/nm/sup 2/-km, results in significantly less variation in dispersion over the EDFA gain band these fibers can be designed with four-wave-mixing performance superior to large effective area fibers ...
