Stresses and Displacements in an Elliptically Perforated Circular Disc Under Radial Pressure
The complex potentials governing the elastic equilibrium of a finite circular disc, elliptically perforated at its center, are obtained using Muskhelishvili’s formulation.

Polar electrodynamics is largely controlled by solar wind and magnetospheric forcing. Different conditions can make plasma convection and magnetic field disturbances asymmetric between hemispheres. So far, these asymmetries have been studied in isolation.

Gravitational field of domain wall in Lyra geometry
In this paper, we study the domain wall with time dependent displacement vectors based on Lyra geometry in normal gauge i.e. displacement vector $f^*_i = [ \beta (t), 0,0,0]$.

Wedge splitting test: Displacement field analysis by multi-parameter fracture mechanics [PDF]
Multi-parameter fracture mechanics is nowadays quite extensively applied when cracked structures/specimens are investigated. The reason was that it has been shown that it can be helpful and bring results that are more accurate when for describing of ...

Lagrangian displacement field estimators in cosmology
The late-time nonlinear Lagrangian displacement field is highly correlated with the initial field, so reconstructing it could enable us to extract primordial cosmological information. Our previous work [1] carefully studied the displacement field reconstructed from the late time density field using the iterative method proposed by Ref.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

On the reach of perturbative descriptions for dark matter displacement fields
We study Lagrangian Perturbation Theory (LPT) and its regularization in the Effective Field Theory (EFT) approach. We evaluate the LPT displacement with the same phases as a corresponding $N$-body simulation, which allows us to compare perturbation ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Surface Subsidence Modelling Induced by Formation of Cavities in Underground Coal Gasification
Underground coal gasification (UCG) is an efficient method for the conversion of deep coal resources into energy. The scope of this work is to model the subsidence of four gasification cavities with a size of 30 m × 30 m × 15 m, separated by 15 m wide ...
