SBAS and PS measurement fusion for enhancing displacement measurements

open access: yes2012 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2012
A major drawback of classical SAR interferometry is its sensitivity to temporal and geometric effects, leading to a distortion of the final results. This problem can be solved by using multi-temporal techniques, like the Small Baseline Subset and Persistent Scatterers algorithms.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Three novel methods to measure the postoperative displacement of lower urinary tract structures following radical prostatectomy in a sample of Korean patients

open access: yesBMC Urology, 2019
Background There is a change in the position of the remaining anatomical structures of the lower urinary tract system following radical prostatectomy. The aims of this investigation were to describe three novel methods used to measure the displacement of

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Dynamic Measuring of Force-Displacement-Characteristics of Shockmounts

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2022
Shockmounts are widely used to isolate sensitive equipment from vibrations and mechanical shock. Despite the highly dynamic nature of shock events, the force-displacement-characteristics of shockmounts which are provided by manufacturers are gained by static measurements.

Development of shearography for surface strain measurement of non-planar objects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The subject of this thesis is the development of optical instrumentation for surface strain measurement of non-planar objects. The speckle interferometry technique of shearography is used to perform quantitative measurements of surface strain on ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Error calibration of five-axis machine tools by on-machine measurement system using a laser displacement sensor

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2014
An on-machine measurement system to measure the workpiece's geometry or dimension plays an important role in manufacturing processes. A laser displacement sensor recently attracts more attention which enables on-machine high-speed continuous ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
