Effect of alcohol on propylthiouracil disposition
Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1983We examined the effect of ethanol on propylthiouracil (PTU) disposition in normal subjects and a rabbit. The drug is metabolized by conjugation. In six normal subjects 19.2 gm oral ethanol, taken either with or two hr after 300 mg PTU, did not change maximum concentration, time to maximum concentration, or total or free AUC of PTU.

Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1977Alprenolol was administered orally and intravenously to 5 healthy subjects before and after IO to 14 daily doses of 0.1 gm pentobarbital. The area under the plasma concentration time curve after an oral 200‐mg dose decreased from 706 ± 277 to 154 ± 48 ng/ml .
