Bio‐based and (semi‐)synthetic zwitterion‐modified novel materials and fully synthetic next‐generation alternatives show the importance of material design for different biomedical applications. The zwitterionic character affects the physiochemical behavior of the material and deepens the understanding of chemical interaction mechanisms within the ...

This review explores functional and responsive materials for triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) in sustainable smart agriculture. It examines how particulate contamination and dirt affect charge transfer and efficiency. Environmental challenges and strategies to enhance durability and responsiveness are outlined, including active functional layers ...

On superconductivity in armchair carbon nanotubes
We use the momentum space renormalization group to study the influence of phonons and the Coulomb interaction on the superconducting response function of armchair single-walled nanotubes. We do not find superconductivity in undoped single nanotubes. When

Rational disposition effects: Theory and evidence
The disposition effect is a longstanding puzzle in financial economics. This paper demonstrates that it is not intrinsically at odds with rational behavior. In a rational expectations model with asymmetrically informed investors, trading strategies as predicted by the disposition effect can arise as an optimal response to dynamic changes in the ...

Microplastics from Wearable Bioelectronic Devices: Sources, Risks, and Sustainable Solutions
Bioelectronic devices (e.g., e‐skins) heavily rely on polymers that at the end of their life cycle will generate microplastics. For research, a holistic approach to viewing the full impact of such devices cannot be overlooked. The potential for devices as sources for microplastics is raised, with mitigation strategies surrounding polysaccharide and ...

Splitting the Disposition Effect : Asymmetric Reactions Towards “Selling Winners” and “Holding Losers” [PDF]
The disposition effect describes investors’ common tendency of quitting a winning investment too soon and holding on to losing investments too long. Since Shefrin and Statman (1985), the two sides of the disposition effect, i.e.

From Waste to Value: Conversion of Calcium Sulfate to Vaterite via Carbon Capture and Storage
This study introduces a new concept for carbon management that relies on the carbonation of industrial gypsum waste and yields phase‐pure vaterite at ambient conditions without any additives. The obtained vaterite is further shown to be a reactive material that develops compressive strength in aqueous suspensions like conventional cements.

Information and context matter: debiasing the disposition effect with lasting impact
The disposition effect is one of the most prominent and widely studied behavioral biases observed among investors. It describes the tendency to close out winning investments prematurely while holding on to losing ones for too long and is generally ...

Investor characteristics and the effect of disposition bias on the Tunisian stock market
Drawing evidence from financial theory, which suggests the tendency of investors to sell winning stocks quickly and to hold on to losing ones for a long time, this is the first study to investigate the relevance of the effect of disposition bias on ...
