Scale-free energy dissipation and dynamic phase transition in stochastic sandpiles

open access: yes, 1999
We study numerically scaling properties of the distribution of cumulative energy dissipated in an avalanche and the dynamic phase transition in a stochastic directed cellular automaton [B. Tadi\'c and D. Dhar, Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 79}, 1519 (1997)] in d=

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Solution of dissipated energy and influence of loading frequency on evaluation results in the rapid evaluation process of fatigue performance

open access: yesJixie qiangdu
The rapid assessment method for metal fatigue performance based on the infrared thermography presents advantages such as short testing cycles, low costs, and high efficiency.

Energy avalanches in a rice-pile model

open access: yes, 1996
We investigate a one-dimensional rice-pile model. We show that the distribution of dissipated potential energy decays as a power law with an exponent $\alpha=1.53$.

Multi‐omics and low‐input proteomics profiling reveals dynamic regulation driving pluripotency initiation in early mouse embryos

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Dapagliflozin prevents methylglyoxal‐induced retinal cell death in ARPE‐19 cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Diabetic macular oedema is a diabetes complication of the eye, which may lead to permanent blindness. ARPE‐19 are human retinal cells used to study retinal diseases and potential therapeutics. Methylglyoxal is a compound increased in uncontrolled diabetes due to elevated blood glucose.

Research and numerical simulation on dynamic tensile instability evolution mechanism of coal under different impact velocities

open access: yes矿业科学学报
Understanding the strain-damage-energy dissipation mechanisms and evolution characteristics of deep coal and rock under impact loading is of great significance for the prevention and control of rockbursts.
