Aspects of dissipation for compressible fluids and kinetic theory [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2013
There are several types of dissipation—the viscosity and heat conductivity, the nonlinearity and the coupling of distinct characteristics—that can occur in the system of conservation laws. In addition to these corresponding types of dissipation, there are other consequences of the H-theorem and the boundary dissipative effects for the kinetic theory ...

Membrane composition and thermodynamic identity as boundaries of life for synthetic cell research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
What makes a cell a cell? The boundary of a living cell is not just a wall. Read as a Markov blanket, the membrane separates internal from external states, generating identity and non‐equilibrium order. Can this identity be rebuilt from scratch in a synthetic cell?

Dissipation Behavior and Dietary Risk of Etofenprox in Kale (Brassica oleracea) and Red Mustard Greens (Brassica juncea)

open access: yesFoods
This study evaluated the dissipation kinetics and dietary risk of etofenprox in kale (Brassica oleracea) and red mustard greens (Brassica juncea), leafy vegetables frequently reported to exceed residue limits in Korea.

Effect of Sunlight and Ultraviolet Light on Dissipation of Fipronil Insecticide in Two Soils and Effect of pH on its Persistence in Aqueous Medium

open access: yesAir, Soil and Water Research, 2014
In a laboratory investigation, the effect of natural sunlight and UV light exposure on dissipation of fipronil insecticide from two soils (clay loam and sandy clay loam) and the effect of pH on the persistence of fipronil in aqueous medium were studied ...

Dissipation kinetics and residues analysis of pendimethalin in soil and maize under field conditions

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2015
Herbicides play an important role in the production of crops, but their residues may cause numerous human/environmental problems. Dissipation kinetics of pendimethalin and residues in soil, maize straw and cobs in winter maize under field conditions were

Kinetics of microbial and photochemical degradation of aflatoxin B1 in a sandy loam and clay soil

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
In a 28-days experiment, we investigated the dissipation of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) (0.5–500 $${\upmu }\text {g}\,\text {kg}^{-1}$$ μ g kg - 1 ) by microbial (MD) and photodegradation (PD) in two contrasting soils (sandy loam and clay). Sterile incubation in

Dissipation kinetics and consumer risk assessment of novaluron + lambda-cyhalothrin co-formulation in cabbage

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety, 2021
Cabbage, one of the most popular vegetables in the world is infested by several insect-pests and diseases. Novaluron, a chitin synthesis inhibitor and lambda-cyhalothrin, a synthetic pyrethroid group insecticide are used to manage insect-pests on cabbage.

Paclitaxel induces NM2‐dependent cellular contraction through GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and RhoA/ROCK activation in cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Taxanes are widely used chemotherapeutics whose effects on cellular mechanics remain poorly understood. We show that paclitaxel induces rapid cellular contraction by promoting GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and non‐muscle myosin II activation through RhoA/ROCK.

Desorption-Enhanced QuEChERS Extraction of Tebufenpyrad from Soil and Its Greenhouse Dissipation

open access: yesAgriculture
A method for quantifying tebufenpyrad residues in greenhouse sandy loam soils was developed and validated. Given the strong sorption (high Koc) of tebufenpyrad to mineral–organic domains in soils, desorption-limited and partially bound residues may occur,
