Soliton dynamics in fiber lasers : from dissipative soliton to dissipative soliton resonance

Nonlinear polarization rotation based 635 nm praseodymium doped mode-locked fiber laser
We demonstrated a mode-locked fiber laser oscillator using nonlinear polarization rotation as a saturable absorption system. The fiber laser generates mode-locked pulses by adjusting four waveplates. A single-clad Pr ^3+ -doped single mode fluoride fiber

Observation of Dissipative Bright Soliton and Dark Soliton in an All-Normal Dispersion Fiber Laser [PDF]
This paper proposes a novel way for controlling the generation of the dissipative bright soliton and dark soliton operation of lasers. We observe the generation of dissipative bright and dark soliton in an all-normal dispersion fiber laser by employing ...

Thermodynamic concepts are increasingly used in nonlinear photonics to describe Rayleigh–Jeans thermalization, optical wave turbulence, condensation, negative-temperature states, and statistical mode locking. We ask how far this reasoning can be extended

A point collocation approach to modelling large dissipative silencers [PDF]
A numerical matching technique known as point collocation is used to model mathematically large dissipative splitter silencers of a type commonly found in HVAC ducts. Transmission loss predictions obtained using point collocation are compared with exact

High-energy, ultrafast pulse generation from mid-infrared (MIR) fiber lasers is often limited by pulse splitting caused by excessive nonlinear phase accumulation, especially in anomalous-dispersion cavities.

Dissipative soliton resonance in thulium-doped fiber laser and its application for microscopy
We experimentally observe dissipative soliton resonance in a thulium-doped fiber laser operating in the anomalous dispersion regime. The laser output exhibits broad quasi-Gaussian spectra (~38 nm) centered at 1970 nm.
