Dissipative Soliton Resonance in Passive Mode-Locked Lasers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
By numerical simulation it is found that the dissipative soliton resonance prevents to an appearance in generation of new pulses with increasing pump power. It can be used for generation of high-energy pulses.

Parametric instability of the dissipative soliton resonance

Advanced Photonics 2018 (BGPP, IPR, NP, NOMA, Sensors, Networks, SPPCom, SOF), 2018
We reveal parametric instability of the dissipative soliton resonance (DSR) in mode-locked fiber lasers. This instability is induced by intrinsic intra-cavity parameter modulations, resulting in coherence loss of the DSR to limit further energy boost.

Dissipative Soliton Resonance Interruption and Restoration

Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science APS/DLS, 2019
Dissipative soliton resonance (DSR) interruption and restoration are reported in a fiber laser. Pump power increase ceases the characteristically linear pulse width broadening of DSR. DSR operation restores after the newly-generated pulse is pushed faraway.

Spatiotemporal dissipative soliton resonances in multimode fiber lasers

Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2023
Spatiotemporal mode-locking in multimode fiber lasers is intriguing for the complex nonlinear dynamics and the increase of theoretical energy limit. In this paper, we enrich spatiotemporal mode-locking with dissipative soliton resonances, a kind of solitons which is characterized by large pulse energy in single mode fiber lasers, and demonstrate their ...

Experimental observation of dissipative soliton resonance in an anomalous-dispersion fiber laser

open access: yesOptics Express, 2012
We have experimentally observed conventional solitons and rectangular pulses in an erbium-doped fiber laser operating at anomalous dispersion regime.

Resonant and dissipative interaction of drift solitons with particles

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 1984
The problem of amplification of the drift solitons in plasma with inhomogeneous density and temperature is studied theoretically. Resonant interaction of solitons with electrons and effect of finite electron thermal conductivity are considered as possible causes of amplification.
