Dissipative soliton resonance in a passively mode-locked fiber laser

Optics Letters, 2011
The phenomenon of dissipative soliton resonance (DSR) predicts that an increase of pulse energy by orders of magnitude can be obtained in laser oscillators. Here, we prove that DSR is achievable in a realistic ring laser cavity using nonlinear polarization evolution as the mode-locking mechanism, whose nonlinear transmission function is adjusted ...

Dynamics of dissipative soliton resonance square pulses in fiber lasers

2017 19th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2017
In this article, we experimentally investigate the dynamics of dissipative soliton resonance (DSR) square pulses in different all-anomalous passively mode-locked double-clad Er:Yb fiber laser setups. In the figure-of-eight configuration, the aim of employing an amplifier in each loop is to control the output pulse's amplitude and width, which depend on

Wavelength and duration tunable dissipative soliton resonance fibre laser

Laser Physics, 2020
Abstract We report on a wavelength and duration tunable mode-locked Yb-doped fibre laser operating in a dissipative soliton resonance (DSR) regime at a sub-megahertz repetition rate. The DSR regime has the advantage of avoiding pulse splitting. Hence, it is suitable for obtaining a high output pulse energy.

Analytical theory of the propagation of a dissipative soliton in a nonequilibrium resonant medium

Physical Review A, 2021
A nonlinear integrodifferential equation of the ``reaction-diffusion'' type is derived for an optical pulse propagating in a gain resonant two-level medium with the inhomogeneous broadening of the quantum transitions. The stable exact analytical solution of this equation in the form of a dissipative optical soliton with an asymmetric temporal profile ...

Resonant dissipative Kerr soliton supercontinuum in the normal dispersion regime

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2020
We demonstrate broadband resonant supercontinuum generation in a Si3N4 microresonator with normal dispersion. Rectangular bright pulses are shown to form directly using synchronous pulse-driving, generating a 2,600-line comb at 28 GHz repetition rate.

Dissipative-soliton-resonance in all-normal-dispersion fiber lasers

2015 11th Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Pacific Rim (CLEO-PR), 2015
Multiple dissipative soliton operation is numerically found to be caused by the spectral filtering effect. Strong peak-power-clamping effect is required for the dissipative-soliton-resonance generation. The peak power is controlled by the cavity peak-power-clamping effect.

Harmonic Dissipative Soliton Resonance in an Yb-Doped Fiber Laser

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2018
The dynamics of nanosecond square pulses have been experimentally investigated in an all-normal-dispersion Yb-doped figure-eight passively mode-locked fiber laser under the condition of dissipative soliton resonance (DSR). Experimentally, by carefully adjusting the polarization controllers with fixed pump power, the DSR square pulses could be split ...

Dissipative soliton resonance in the Er:Yb:doped double-clad fiber laser

Nonlinear Optics and its Applications 2018, 2018
Dissipative soliton resonance (DSR) is an efficient way to achieve high energetic pulses without wave breaking. In fiber laser, DSR operation manifests as square pulses emission. Based on this principle, we have experimentally demonstrated pulses in the micro joule range.
