Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

Separation of ions with the same charge to mass ratio from a collision experiment

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2000
Some atomic collision experiments lead to ions having identical q/m ratio, as well as average velocity, so that standard electric and magnetic analyzers are not able to identify them separately.

The effect of temperature on the oxygen dissociation curves of whole blood of larval and adult lampreys (Geotria australis)

open access: yes, 1982
Oxygen dissociation curves of the whole blood of larvae and adults of the Southern Hemisphere lamprey Geotria australis have been determined between pH 6.8 and 8.2 at 5, 15 and 25 degrees C. 2. The P50's at temperatures of 5, 15 and 25 degrees C and a pH

Metacognition and dissociation as mediators between childhood trauma and psychiatric symptoms

open access: yes
Background: Childhood trauma (CT) is a significant risk factor for the development of psychopathology, including maladaptive personality traits and psychiatric symptoms. CT has been shown to impact various psychological outcomes, including mood disorders

Transcripts enriched in codons that trigger P‐site tRNA‐mediated mRNA decay possess stable mRNA

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
PTMD codons were first described by Mendel et al. as mediators of an mRNA decay pathway dependent on the human protein CNOT3, homologous to yeast Not5. Our findings confirm that PTMD codons destabilize transcripts; however, unlike in yeast, the human pathway specifically targets and slightly destabilizes primarily stable mRNAs.

Dissociation, postraumática stress symptoms, emotional dysregulation, and invalidating environments as correlativo of ósea in borderline personality disorder patients

open access: yes
Theoretical models have proposed that inadequate caregiving environments undermine the development of adaptive regulation strategies at early stages and can lead children to inadequate regulation skills for coping with distress, such as dissociation ...

Numerical simulation on the marine landslide due to gas hydrate dissociation

open access: yes, 2017
Marine landslide due to gas hydrate dissociation is a kind of potential heavy hazards. Numerical simulation was processed to investigate the deformation landslide and effects of main factors on the critical scale of dissociation zone to induce marine ...

Hyperosmotic stress‐induced redistribution of pre‐mRNA cleavage factor I subunits is associated with shifts in alternative polyadenylation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Dissociation and recovery in psychosis – an overview of the literature

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry
BackgroundThe relationship between dissociation and recovery from psychosis is a new topic, which could attract the interest of the researchers in the field of dissociation due to its relevance to their daily clinical practice.
