Implementation of chemistry in the Athena++ code [PDF]
Chemistry plays a key role in many aspects of astrophysical fluids. Atoms and molecules are agents for heating and cooling, determine the ionization fraction, serve as observational tracers, and build the molecular foundation of life. We present the implementation of a chemistry module in the publicly available magneto-hydrodynamic code Athena++.

The Role of Electron Transfer Dissociation in Modern Proteomics
In the nearly fifteen years since electron transfer dissociation (ETD) was introduced,1 bioanalytical mass spectrometry (MS) and MS-driven proteomics have continued to develop as the premier tools for characterizing proteome composition, structure, and ...

Quantum chemical studies of redox properties and conformational changes of a four-center iron CO2 reduction electrocatalyst. [PDF]
The CO2 reduction electrocatalyst [Fe4N(CO)12]- (abbrev. 1-) reduces CO2 to HCO2- in a two-electron, one-proton catalytic cycle. Here, we employ ab initio calculations to estimate the first two redox potentials of 1- and explore the pathway of a side ...

Chronic TGF‐β exposure drives epithelial HCC cells from a senescent state to a TGF‐β resistant mesenchymal phenotype. This transition is characterized by the loss of Smad3‐mediated signaling, escape from senescence, enhanced invasiveness and metastatic potential, and upregulation of key resistance modulators such as MARK1 and GRM8, ultimately promoting

Propriedades relacionadas à acidez e basicidade a partir da abordagem em química computacional
Analytical Chemistry books lack a clear link between thermodynamic and equilibrium approaches involving acids and bases. In this work, theoretical calculations were performed to search for these relations.

Antioxidant Motifs in Flavonoids: O–H versus C–H Bond Dissociation
Flavonoids provide potential health benefits due to their antioxidant properties. The antioxidant activity of natural flavonoids is primarily exerted by phenolic hydroxyl groups; however, C–H bonds also contribute to these properties.

Fragmentation dynamics of the ethyl bromide and ethyl iodide cations: a velocity-map imaging study [PDF]
The photodissociation dynamics of ethyl bromide and ethyl iodide cations (C2H5Br+ and C2H5I+) have been studied. Ethyl halide cations were formed through vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) photoionization of the respective neutral parent molecules at 118.2 nm, and

Activation of amino acids by aminoacyl‐tRNA synthetases can be followed by a modified ATP/PPi exchange assay using radiolabelled γ‐[32P]ATP. The reaction is quenched at certain time points, followed by separation of the product ([32P]PPi) from the substrate (γ‐[32P]ATP) by thin‐layer chromatography (TLC).

Free radical OH, a molecule of astrophysical and aeronomic interest [PDF]
The chemistry and physics of the gaseous OH free radical as it applies to interstellar space, planetary atmospheres, and the sun is presented. Topics considered are: (1) rotational-vibrational transitions; (2) dissociation and ionization processes; (3 ...
