Potentiometric investigation of acid-base equilibria of two newv pyrimidine derivatives in various methanol–water media [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2006
The acid-base properties of 1-amino-5-benzoyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrimidine-2-one (L1) and 1-amino-5-benzoyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrimidine-2-thione (L2) were investigated potentiometrically at an ionic strength of 0.10M(LiCl) in 19.8, 33.6 and 55.9 % (v/v) methanolâ ...

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.

Estimated un-ionized ammonia at small incremental pH value and temperatures: practical option for fish farmers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Ammonia as the primary product of nitrogen metabolism causes mortality due to ammonia toxicity produced in a culture system. Effect of pH and Temperature was calculation and expanded using the acid dissociation constant (pka) for equation: pka = 0.09018+

Monte Carlo Algorithm for Simulating Reversible Aggregation of Multisite Particles

open access: yes, 2011
We present an efficient and exact Monte Carlo algorithm to simulate reversible aggregation of particles with dedicated binding sites. This method introduces a novel data structure of dynamic bond tree to record clusters and sequences of bond formations ...

Near‐Infrared Organic Photovoltaic Electrodes for Subretinal Neurostimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Organic photovoltaic electrodes based on the D18:Y6 blend enable precise and light‐controlled activation of retinal ganglion cells in a degenerating retina. NIR Light‐driven activation of retinal ganglion cells, tunable stimulation parameters, and biocompatibility with human retinal organoids highlight their potential for next‐generation prosthetics ...

Dissociation Constants of Hexosephosphoric Acids.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1927
Hexosediphosphoric acid from yeast and hexosemonophosphoric acid from muscle (lactacidogen) were kindly made available from preparations by Professor Embden. Electrometric titration showed both stronger than pure phosphoric acid in the region of the first and, more conspicuously, in that of the second dissociation constant.

A Smart Bio‐Battery Facilitates Diabetic Bone Defect Repair Via Inducing Macrophage Reprogramming and Synergistically Modulating Bone Remodeling Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This research presents a novel implantable bio‐battery, GF‐OsG, tailored for diabetic bone repair. GF‐OsG generates microcurrents in high‐glucose conditions to enhance vascularization, shift macrophages to the M2 phenotype, and regulate immune responses.

High‐Spatiotemporal‐Resolution Transparent Thermoelectric Temperature Sensor Arrays Reveal Temperature‐Dependent Windows for Reversible Photothermal Neuromodulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermoelectric temperature sensors are developed that directly measure heat changes during optical‐based neural stimulation with millisecond precision. The sensors reveal the temperature windows for safe reversible neural modulation: 1.4–4.5 °C enables reversible neural inhibition, while temperatures above 6.1 °C cause permanent thermal damage.

Determination of ionization constants (PKA) of β-hydroxy-β-arylalkanoic acids using high-pressure liquid chromatography [PDF]

open access: yesKragujevac Journal of Science, 2018
pKa values of five β-hydroxy-β-arylalkanoic acids and ibuprofen were determined using the RP-HPLC method. Stationary phase was octadecyl modified (C-18) silica gel, and mobile phase was a mixture of methanol and one of nine different buffers (60:40, v/v).
