Direct observation of long-lived cyanide anions in superexcited states
Cyanide anions exist in interstellar space, but the vibrationally or electronically excited states above the electron autodetachment threshold of CN- are assumed to have no contributions to cosmic CN-. Here, the authors report long-lived, superexcited CN-

Dynamics of Site Selectivity in Dissociative Electron Attachment in Aromatic Molecules
Dissociative electron attachment has shown site selectivity in aliphatic molecules based on the functional groups present in them. This selectivity arises from the core excited resonances that have excited parent states localized to a specific site of ...

Motivated by the potential role of molybdenum in semiconductor materials, we present a combined theoretical and experimental gas-phase study on dissociative electron attachment (DEA) and dissociative ionization (DI) of Mo(CO)6 in comparison to focused ...

Dissociative electron attachment to abasic DNA [PDF]
Thin films of the short single DNA strand, GCAT, in which one of the bases has been removed were bombarded with 3 to 15 eV electrons. The yield functions of the H(-), O(-) and OH(-) ions desorbed from these films exhibit a broad peak near 9 eV, which is attributed to dissociative electron attachment to the basic molecules. Whereas removal of any one of

Electron Scattering Cross-Section Calculations for Atomic and Molecular Iodine
Cross sections for electron scattering from atomic and molecular iodine are calculated based on the R-matrix (close-coupling) method. Elastic and electronic excitation cross sections are presented for both I and I2.

Low Energy Electron Attachment by Some Chlorosilanes
In this paper, the rate coefficients (k) and activation energies (Ea) for SiCl4, SiHCl3, and Si(CH3)2(CH2Cl)Cl molecules in the gas phase were measured using the pulsed Townsend technique.

Dissociative electron attachment and dipolar dissociation in ethylene [PDF]
We present a detailed experimental investigation of anion production in electron collisions with ethylene, C2H4. The investigated energy range is between 0 and 90 eV where anions are formed by two processes, in the low energy regime by dissociative electron attachment (DEA) and at higher energy by dipolar dissociation (DD).

Towards improving spatial and energy resolution in gaseous detectors with negative ion drift [PDF]
Negative ion drift is a technique to minimise diffusion in gaseous detectors by drifting negative ions in lieu of electrons. Electronegative gases are typically used as a method to form negative ions.

Who done it, actually? Dissociative identity disorder for the criminologist [PDF]
Through the analysis of clinical examples, the paper explores how decisions are made by a person with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), the notions of choice and ‘competent reasoning’, and the practical and ethical ways for interviewing a person with
