Combining Extrapolated Electron Localization Functions and Berlin’s Binding Functions for the Prediction of Dissociative Electron Attachment [PDF]

open access: yes
Computational study of electronic resonances is still a very challenging topic, with the phenomenon of dissociative electron attachment (DEA) being one of the multiple features worth investigating.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Electron-induced dissociation of HFO1234ze: dissociative electron attachment and dissociative ionization*

open access: yesPhysica Scripta
Abstract We studied free electron collision-induced fragmentation of HFO1234ze(E) (C3H2F4). The motivation of the present study is to assess the possibility of using this gas in resistive plate chamber detectors and for the interest in its electron-induced decomposition.

Electron interaction with copper(II) carboxylate compounds

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2018
In the present study we have performed electron collision experiments with copper carboxylate complexes: [Cu2(t-BuNH2)2(µ-O2CC2F5)4], [Cu2(s-BuNH2)2(µ-O2CC2F5)4], [Cu2(EtNH2)2(µ-O2CC2F5)4], and [Cu2(µ-O2CC2F5)4].

Studies on the Processes of Electron Capture and Clustering of Benzyl Chloride by Ion Mobility Spectrometry

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
This paper presents the results of the study on the course of the benzyl chloride (BzCl) ionization process in a drift tube ion mobility spectrometer (DT IMS) in which nitrogen was used as the carrier gas.

Liver organoids: modelling complexity in homeostasis and disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Studying liver in vitro has been challenging because simple 2D cell cultures fail to capture liver's cellular and architectural complexity. To bridge this gap, scientists increasingly use organoids, 3D liver models which better mimic liver composition and function. This review examines recent advances in liver organoid complexity and realism, discusses

Structures of mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase reveal carrier‐domain translocation between catalytic sites

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase uses a mobile biotin‐carrying domain to shuttle a carboxyl group between two catalytic sites, enabling carboxylation of 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA during leucine breakdown. Cryo‐electron microscopy captures the carrier at both sites and reveals an inward loop movement that may prevent futile rebinding to the ...

Effect of electron temperature and concentration on production of hydroxyl radical and nitric oxide in atmospheric pressure low-temperature helium plasma jet: Swarm analysis and global model investigation

open access: yesOpen Physics
This work presents a numerical analysis by zero-dimensional global model of the influence of electron temperature and concentration on production of OH and NO for helium plasma jet propagating in the atmosphere of humid air. The calculations are done for

Dynamics of dissociative electron attachment to ammonia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Ab initio theoretical studies and momentum-imaging experiments are combined to provide a consistent picture of the dynamics of dissociative electron attachment to ammonia through its 5.5- and 10.5-eV resonance channels.
