UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Rate Coefficients for Low-Energy Electron Dissociative Attachment to Molecular Hydrogen [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Calculation of rate constants for dissociative electron attachment to molecular hydrogen is reported. The calculation is based on an improved nonlocal resonance model of Civzek, Horacek and Domcke which takes fully into account the nonlocality of the ...

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Electron Attachment Step in Electron Capture Dissociation (ECD) and Electron Transfer Dissociation (ETD) [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2005
We have made use of classical dynamics trajectory simultions and ab initio electronic structure calculations to estimate the cross sections with which electrons are attached (in electron capture dissociation (ECD)) or transferred (in electron transfer dissociation (ETD)) to a model system that contained both an S-S bond that is cleaved and a -NH(3 ...

Dissociative electron attachment to 2,4,6-TCA and 2,4,6-TBA molecules

open access: yes, 2018
2,4,6-trichloroanisole and 2,4,6-tribromoanisole were investigated by means of Electron Transmission Spectroscopy and two different types of Dissociative Electron Attachment spectrometers, see Fig. 1.

Ontology‐Aligned Structuring and Reuse of Multimodal Materials Data and Workflows Toward Automatic Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Reproduction of stacking fault energy calculations from literature with a semi‐automated large language model‐assisted extraction procedure: extraction of simulation protocol, atomistic structures, computational parameters, and reported results, ontology alignment, knowledge graph construction and, finally, recomputation forvalidation.

DNA‐Templated 2D Heterostructures as Phototriggered Dynamic Nanohybrids: From Releasing Molecular Loads to Controlling Enzyme Biocatalytic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

On likely linkage between dissociative electron attachment and biological effects produced by xenobiotics

open access: yes, 2018
A possible correlation between electron acceptor properties, in particular, dissociative electron attachment (DEA) and biological activity for a series of xenobiotic species (organic pollutants, polyphenolic antioxidants, and ascorbic acid) is reported.

Dissociative electron attachment to c-C

open access: yes, 2023
The electron attachment and dissociative electron attachment to gas phase octafluorocyclobutane (c-C4F8) and to its clusters have been measured. The majority of the gas phase products were already reported earlier and have been successfully confirmed in ...

Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,
