Quantemol Electron Collisions (QEC): An Enhanced Expert System for Performing Electron Molecule Collision Calculations Using the R-Matrix Method

open access: yesAtoms, 2019
Collisions of low energy electrons with molecules are important for understanding many aspects of the environment and technologies. Understanding the processes that occur in these types of collisions can give insights into plasma etching processes, edge ...

Defect‐Engineered Microwave‐Responsive Ni@C Composites From Waste PET for Catalytic Plastic Upcycling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A circular upcycling strategy transforms waste poly(ethylene terephthalate) bottles into microwave‐responsive Ni@C catalyst featuring lattice‐distorted nickel cores and defective carbon shells. These strain‐rich heterointerfaces enhance dielectric loss and promote localized microwave hotspots, accelerating peroxymonosulfate activation and polymer‐chain

Dissociative ionization of substituted piperideines

open access: yesChemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, 1989
The fragmentation of different alkyl(aryl) substituted piperideines [tetrahydro-pyridines] was studied by analyzing high-resolution mass spectra and DADI [Direct Analysis of Daughter Ions] spectra. It was shown that the retrodiene decomposition of the ring is suppressed by competing processes of elimination of ring substitutents.

Efficient Hydroxyl Diffusion Triggers Surface Hydronium Enrichment and Bulk Proton Participation to Boost Alkaline Hydrogen‐Evolving Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
For the first time, we shed light on the surface‐to‐bulk diffusion, induction, and reaction behaviors of OH−, H+, and H2O species on model oxides for alkaline hydrogen‐evolving reaction (HER). We first demonstrate that bulk OH− diffusion significantly affects the generation of proton sources and the diffusion/reaction behaviors of protons, thus ...

All‐Amyloid Functional Coacervates

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces an all‐amyloid interfacial complex coacervate technique that employs charge‐mediated or functionalization‐assisted complexation of oppositely charged food protein‐derived amyloid nanofibrils to engineer functional soft constructs across multiple length scales.

Esterified Cholesterol Conjugates Enable LNP‐Mediated mRNA Delivery to the Blood–Brain Barrier Following Intravenous Administration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A cholesterol‐conjugated lipid library enabled the identification of a ligand‐free LNP platform for efficient mRNA delivery to brain endothelial cells via systemic administration. This platform achieves selective BBB targeting without disrupting barrier integrity, and enables modulation of neuroinflammation and vascular function without requiring trans‐

Poly(Alkoxythiophene) Rod‐Coil Block Copolymers for Organic Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We present the first synthesis of poly(3‐alkoxythiophene) rod‐coil block copolymers as a new architecture for OMIECs. Incorporating PEG and PLLA coils can enhance device performance beyond the homopolymer. The figure‐of‐merit depends uniquely on coil length.
