Physicochemical Characterization of Hydroxyapatite Hybrids with Meloxicam for Dissolution Rate Improvement

open access: yesMolecules
Organic–inorganic hybrids represent a good solution to improve the solubility and dissolution rates of poorly soluble drugs whose number has been increasing in the last few years. One of the most diffused inorganic matrices is hydroxyapatite (HAP), which

The Improved Performance of porous Sn-Ni Alloy as Anode Materials for Lithium- Ion Battery prepared by Electrochemical Dissolution Treatment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2013
In order to improve the specific capacity and rate capability of the electrodeposited Sn-Ni alloy, a post electrochemical dissolution treatment was introduced to prepare porous Sn-Ni alloy.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Improved Oxygen Dissolution Control for Oxygen Activated Sludge

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 1988
Now that oxygen production facilities can be controlled to match the requirements of the dissolution system, improved oxygen dissolution control can result in significant cost savings for oxygen activated sludge plants. This paper examines the potential cost savings of the vacuum exhaust control (VEC) strategy for the City of Houston, Texas 69th Street

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Bubble dissolution in horizontal turbulent bubbly flow in domestic central heating system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In a domestic central heating system, the phenomenon of microbubble nucleation and detachment on the surface of a boiler heat exchanger finds its origins in the high surface temperature of the wall and consequential localised super saturation ...

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Improvement in vitro Dissolution Rate of Quercetin Using Cocrystallization of Quercetin-Malonic Acid

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2018
The aim of the study was to improve the in-vitro dissolution rate of quercetin (Qu) using cocrystallization of quercetin. Cocrystals of quercetin (Co Qu) were produced with malonic acid (Ma) as coformer at ratio 1:2 using solvent evaporation method ...

A zero dimensional model of lithium-sulfur batteries during charge and discharge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Lithium-sulfur cells present an attractive alternative to Li-ion batteries due to their large energy density, safety, and possible low cost. Their successful commercialisation is dependent on improving their performance, but also on acquiring sufficient ...
