Distribution and Alkaline phosphatatase activity of filamentous conjugales in an upper Teesdale stream [PDF]
Two small streams in Upper Teesdale National Nature Reserve were examined with respect to water chemistry and filamentous Conjugales present. Phosphate, nitrate and ammonia concentrations in the water were determined, to investigate a possible link ...

Anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membranes have traditionally served as structural supports in osmotic energy systems. Here, blind‐hole AAO membranes are demonstrated as active ion‐selective platforms with tunable nanopore structures. By balancing membrane resistance, ion selectivity, and flux, enhanced performance is achieved, delivering a maximum power ...

Utilization of different dissolved organic phosphorus sources by Symbiodinium voratum in vitro
ABSTRACTThis study examines the physiological responses of the Symbiodiniumvoratum (clade E) to two types of phosphates having different chemical bonds—phosphoesters (C-O-P bonds) and phosphonates (C-P bonds) to explore Symbiodinium cell growth and the molecular perspective of the P utilization process.

Dissolved organic phosphorus concentrations in the northeast subarctic Pacific Ocean [PDF]
Shipboard determinations of dissolved organic P (DOP) concentrations were made for NE subarctic Pacific Ocean samples with three different oxidation-hydrolysis methods: UV irradiation, acid persulfate digestion, and a rigorous method that combines the UV and persulfate treatments (combination method).

Dissolved organic phosphorus bioremediation from food-waste centrate using microalgae.
Dissolved organic phosphorus (DOP) accounts for a substantial proportion of the total phosphorus remaining in the wastewater discharge and remains a concern for the receiving environment. This study assessed the potential of wastewater microalgae for the

This review systematically explains the synthesis, properties, and energy storage and conversion applications of vanadium carbides. We introduce the structural and the synthetic strategies and reviewed recent developments in the material synthesis processes. The emerging applications of vanadium carbides in energy storage and conversion are highlighted.

Photocatalytic treatment of glyphosate herbicide in agricultural wastewater is achieved through the cooperative effect of the local polarization field and dipole field mediated by lattice‐distorted carbon nitride. Glyphosate is completely degraded via selective C─P bond cleavage with a CO evolution rate of 1166 µmol g−1 h−1.

Forestry impact on water quality: a landscape perspective on dissolved organic carbon [PDF]
Dissolved organic carbon (DOC) is a fundamental variable defining boreal stream ecosystems. In this thesis the impact of forestry practices that are commonly performed in the boreal regions of Scandinavia for stream water quality were evaluated.

This review explores how hemoglobin‐based oxygen carriers (HBOCs) combined with nanozymes create multifunctional materials that deliver oxygen while maintaining redox homeostasis. Beyond artificial blood substitutes, these constructs enable wound healing with light‐triggered oxygen release, cancer therapy through enhanced oxygenation and reactive ...

(a) The outstanding lubricative properties of natural articular cartilage arise from a composite coating composed of HA, lubricin, and phospholipids at its surface. Notably, lubricin facilitates the enrichment of synovial HA onto cartilage surfaces, and HA complexes with phospholipids, a key component to maintain extremely low friction under high ...
