Matrix versions of the Hellinger distance [PDF]

open access: yesLetters in Mathematical Physics, 2019
On the space of positive definite matrices, we consider distance functions of the form $$d(A,B)=\left[ \mathrm{tr}\mathcal {A}(A,B)-\mathrm{tr}\mathcal {G}(A,B)\right] ^{1/2},$$d(A,B)=trA(A,B)-trG(A,B)1/2, where $$\mathcal {A}(A,B)$$A(A,B) is the ...

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

IMPLEMENTATION OF THE BRANCH AND BOUND METHOD FOR THE PROBLEM OF RECOVERING A DISTANCES MATRIX BETWEEN DNA STRINGS

open access: yesСовременные информационные технологии и IT-образование, 2019
Bioinformatics has two important problems for the study of evolutionary processes: calculating the distance between DNA sequences and restoring a matrix of distances sequences of different genomes when not all initial elements are known. Due to the large

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Four-point condition matrices of edge-weighted trees

open access: yesSpecial Matrices
Formulas for the determinant of distance matrix DT{D}_{T} of tree TT are known in the unweighted case and in the case when the edges of TT have commuting variable weights. Associated with the four-point condition (4PC) and a tree TT are two matrices, the

Research on decision method based on probability hesitation fuzzy comprehensive distance measure

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao, 2023
Aiming at the defects of the existing probabilistic hesitation fuzzy distance measures, which require the number of membership degree to be consistent and the order to be rearranged, a probabilistic hesitation fuzzy multi-attribute decision making method

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...
