This chapter is dedicated to the case of neutral type linear systems with distributed delay. The structure of quadratic functionals that have prescribed time derivatives along the solutions of such a system is defined, and the corresponding Lyapunov matrices are introduced. A system of matrix equations that defines Lyapunov matrices is given.

A PI-controller for distributed delay systems
Automatica, 1987A finite dimensional control theory is developed for the design of a proportional plus integral control law for tracking step command inputs in general autonomous time-lag systems with distributed heredity in state, control and output variables. With respect to an ordinary differential equation describing the delay system unstable modes, an auxiliary ...

Distributed delays in finite spectrum assignment
Proceedings of the 2003 American Control Conference, 2003., 2004This paper presents a new framework for treating impartially both pure delays and distributed delays in the algebraic theory of finite spectrum assignment.

Delay-independent design for distributed systems
IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, 1988Methods of limiting the impact of communication delays on the logical behavior of distributed systems are considered. It is assumed that a distributed system is described in terms of a number of interconnected modules, and each module is described in terms of its possible states and the possible state transitions.
