A distributed feedback silicon evanescent laser
We report an electrically pumped distributed feedback silicon evanescent laser. The laser operates continuous wave with a single mode output at 1600 nm. The laser threshold is 25 mA with a maximum output power of 5.4 mW at 10 degrees C. The maximum operating temperature and minimum line width of the laser are 50 degrees C, and 3.6 MHz, respectively.

Distributed feedback fiber Raman laser
IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 2001We analyze the properties of a distributed feedback fiber laser based on Raman amplification. Such a laser is quite practical and has a number of novel properties. We model numerically the laser dynamics, analyze in detail the role of the nonlinear refractive index of the fiber and argue on the optimal design parameters.

Laser dynamics in organic distributed feedback lasers
Applied Physics Letters, 2006The authors study laser dynamics in a polymer distributed feedback resonator by performing pump-probe experiments. They measured the population kinetics in the device under lasing operation with subpicosecond time resolution. By modeling the system with a set of coupled rate equations, which account for stimulated emission and nonradiative decays, they

All of the lasers that have been described so far depend on optical feedback from a pair of reflecting surfaces, which form a Fabry-Perot etalon. In an optical integrated circuit, in which the laser diodes are monolithically integrated within the semiconductor wafer, it is usually very difficult to form such reflecting surfaces.

Multicore fiber distributed feedback lasers
Optics Letters, 2012We demonstrate parallel fabrication of seven fiber distributed feedback (DFB) lasers in a hexagonally arrayed multicore core Er doped fiber with 40 μm core spacing. DFB grating cavities 8 cm long and operating near 1545 nm were fabricated with a single UV inscription exposure.
