Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

A Fault-Tolerant Detection Fusion Strategy for Distributed Multisensor Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2016
The distributed detection fusion formulation (DDFF) in ideal multisensor systems has been studied over the last two decades. If some local sensors cannot work normally, the detection performance of system may reduce significantly.

Distributed State Fusion Estimation of Multi-Source Localization Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesSensors, 2023
For the state estimation problem of a multi-source localization nonlinear system with unknown and bounded noise, a distributed sequential ellipsoidal intersection fusion estimation algorithm based on the dual set-membership filtering method is proposed ...

Moments of fusion-barrier distributions

open access: yesPhysical Review C, 2016
A study of fusion-barrier distributions through an analysis of their moments is presented. The moments can be obtained from least-squares fits of the energy-weighted fusion cross sections without the need of calculating second derivatives. The zeroth and first moments determine the fusion radius $R$ and the Coulomb barrier ${V}_{C}$.

Minimum information loss fusion in distributed sensor networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A key assumption of distributed data fusion is that individual nodes have no knowledge of the global network topology and use only information which is available locally.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Self-stabilizing Distributed Data Fusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The Theory of Belief Functions is a formal framework for reasoning with uncertainty that is well suited for representing unreliable information and weak states of knowledge. In information fusion applications, it is mainly used in a centralized way, by gathering the data on a single node before computation.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
