Distribution‐constrained optimal stopping

open access: yesMathematical Finance, 2018
AbstractWe solve the problem of optimal stopping of a Brownian motion subject to the constraint that the stopping time's distribution is a given measure consisting of finitely many atoms. In particular, we show that this problem can be converted to a finite sequence of state‐constrained optimal control problems with additional states corresponding to ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Distributed Optimization for VPP and Distribution Network Operation Considering Uncertainty and Green Certificate Market

open access: yesZhongguo dianli
In order to cope with the uncertainties brought by the growing scale of renewable energy, this paper proposed a distributed optimization for virtual power plant (VPP) considering uncertainties.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Distributed Multi-Agent Energy Management for Microgrids in a Co-Simulation Framework

open access: yesEnergies
The diversity of energy resources in distribution networks requires new strategies for planning and operation. In this context, microgrids are solutions that can integrate renewable energy sources, energy storage systems (ESSs), and demand response (DR),

Primal-Dual Subgradient Algorithm for Distributed Constraint Optimization Over Unbalanced Digraphs

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper investigates the distributed convex optimization problem with coupled inequality constraints over unbalanced digraphs depicted as row-stochastic matrices, where each agent in the network only has access to its local information, while the ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Nowcasting the next hour of residential load using boosting ensemble machines

open access: yesScientific Reports
Accurate residential load forecasting is a key to achieve grid stability and efficient energy management. However, it becomes challenging due to the non-linear and seasonally fluctuating energy usage of domestic users.
