A New Type of Distributed Parameter Control Systems: Two-Point Boundary Value Problems for Infinite-Dimensional Dynamical Systems

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
This survey note describes a new type of distributed parameter control systems—the two-point boundary value problems for infinite-dimensional dynamical systems, particularly, for hyperbolic systems of partial differential equations of second order, some ...

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Regional Stability and Stability Radius*

open access: yesESAIM: Proceedings and Surveys, 2015
In this work we consider the problem of stability, for distributed parameter systems, through the space variable. We give an extension of the stability radius, introduced by A. J. Pritchard and S. Townley [7, 10], to the regional case.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Adaptive control strategies for a class of nonlinear propagation bioprocesses [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2008
This paper presents the control problem of a class of propagation bioprocesses that are carried out in fixed bed reactors. Since the dynamics of these processes are described by partial differential equations, in order to obtain useful models for control

Obtaining Mode Shapes through the Karhunen-Loève Expansion for Distributed-Parameter Linear Systems

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2002
The Karhunen-Loève expansion is a powerful spectral technique for the analysis and synthesis of dynamical systems. It consists in decomposing a spatial correlation matrix, which can be obtained through numerical or physical experiments. The decomposition

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Iterative Learning Control with Forgetting Factor for Linear Distributed Parameter Systems with Uncertainty

open access: yesJournal of Control Science and Engineering, 2014
Iterative learning control is an intelligent control algorithm which imitates human learning process. Based on this concept, this paper discussed iterative learning control problem for a class parabolic linear distributed parameter systems with ...

On the structure of the control subsystem for stochastic distributed parameter systems

open access: yes, 1978
Continuous-time control is considered, together with the corresponding allocation algorithm. The synthesis of a pointwise controller is carried out using the direct method, where the control is expanded in terms of a finite number of coordinate functions

Fractional Dynamics and Control of Distributed Parameter Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Fractional Calculus (FC) goes back to the beginning of the theory of differential calculus. Nevertheless, the application of FC just emerged in the last two decades, due to the progress in the area of chaos that revealed subtle relationships with the ...
