A new computational tool is presented in this paper for suboptimal control design of a class of nonlinear distributed parameter systems (DPSs). In this systematic methodology, first proper orthogonal decomposition-basedproblem-oriented basis functions ...

Optimal Stabilization of the Distributed Parameter Systems [PDF]
The methods of investigating the optimal stabilization problems occupied an important place in the optimal control theory, The fundamentals of the methods for the finite-dimensional systems have been described by N.N.Krasovsky in the supplement to the monograph [1].

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

MMC‐HVDC AC side line protection based on positive sequence fault component current ratio
The high‐voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission based on modular multilevel converter shows the weak feed characteristic of limited fault current amplitude when connected to the traditional AC power grid, which leads to the risk of sensitivity ...

Explicit simplicial discretization of distributed-parameter port-Hamiltonian systems [PDF]
Simplicial Dirac structures as finite analogues of the canonical Stokes–Dirac structure, capturing the topological laws of the system, are defined on simplicial manifolds in terms of primal and dual cochains related by the coboundary operators.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Optimum Control of Distributed-Parameter Systems
This paper presents a general discussion of the optimum control of distributed-parameter dynamical systems. The main areas of discussion are: (a) The mathematical description of distributed parameter systems, (b) the controllability and observability of ...
