Multiarea Distribution System State Estimation via Distributed Tensor Completion

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2022
This paper proposes a model-free distribution system state estimation method based on tensor completion using canonical polyadic decomposition. In particular, we consider a setting where the network is divided into multiple areas. The measured physical quantities at buses located in the same area are processed by an area controller.

Measurement Placement in Distribution System State Estimation [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2009
This paper introduces a technique for meter placement for the purpose of improving the quality of voltage and angle estimates across a network. The proposed technique is based on the sequential improvement of a bivariate probability index governing relative errors in voltage and angle at each bus.

Distributed bounded-error state estimation for partitioned systems based on practical robust positive invariance

open access: yes, 2013
We propose a partition-based state estimator for linear discrete-time systems composed by coupled subsystems affected by bounded disturbances. The architecture is distributed in the sense that each subsystem is equipped with a local state estimator that ...

Distributed State Estimation for Networked Spacecraft Thermal Experiments Over Sensor Networks With Randomly Varying Transmission Delays

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper investigates the distributed state estimation problem for spacecraft thermal experiments over sensor networks. The state estimators are designed in a distributed fashion to estimate the surplus temperature of the target node in the spacecraft.

Consensus-Based Distributed Target Tracking with False Data Injection Attacks over Radar Network

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
For target tracking in radar network, any anomaly in a part of the system can quickly spread over the network and lead to tracking failures. False data injection (FDI) attacks can damage the state estimation mechanism by modifying the radar measurements ...

Event-triggered distributed H∞ state estimation with packet dropouts through sensor networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This study is concerned with the event-triggered distributed H∞ state estimation problem for a class of discrete-time stochastic non-linear systems with packet dropouts in a sensor network.

People tracking by multiple ground LiDARs based on distributed interacting multimodel method

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2022
This paper presents a cooperative people tracking using networked light detection and rangings (LiDARs) allocated in an environment. Each LiDAR detects people from the LiDAR-scan data using a background subtraction method and sends the people positions ...

On the Impacts of Redundancy, Diversity, and Trust in Resilient Distributed State Estimation [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems, 2020
We address the problem of distributed state estimation of a linear dynamical process in an attack-prone environment. Recent attempts to solve this problem impose stringent redundancy requirements on the measurement and communication resources of the ...

Distributed State Estimation for AC Power Systems using Gauss-Newton ALADIN

open access: yes, 2019
This paper proposes a structure exploiting algorithm for solving non-convex power system state estimation problems in distributed fashion. Because the power flow equations in large electrical grid networks are non-convex equality constraints, we develop ...
