Load Forecasting Based Distribution System Network Reconfiguration-A Distributed Data-Driven Approach

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, a short-term load forecasting approach based network reconfiguration is proposed in a parallel manner. Specifically, a support vector regression (SVR) based short-term load forecasting approach is designed to provide an accurate load ...

Comprehensive Review on Static and Dynamic Distribution Network Reconfiguration Methodologies

open access: yesIEEE Access
Reconfiguration of a distribution network is one of the main approaches to control and enhance distribution network indices, such as voltage profile and power losses.

A novel method based on coyote algorithm for simultaneous network reconfiguration and distribution generation placement

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2021
This paper presents a new method based on coyote algorithm (COA) which is inspired from the social life of coyotes for the problem of simultaneous network reconfiguration and distributed generation (DG) placement to reduce real power loss.

Ten virtues of structured graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper extends the invited talk by the first author about the virtues of structured graphs. The motivation behind the talk and this paper relies on our experience on the development of ADR, a formal approach for the design of styleconformant ...

Distribution network reconfiguration optimization method based on undirected-graph isolation group detection and the whale optimization algorithm

open access: yesAIMS Energy
As distributed generation (DG) becomes increasingly integrated into the distribution grid, the structure of the distribution network is becoming more complex.

Two-Stage Robust Distribution Network Reconfiguration Against Failures of Lines and Renewable Generations

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Network reconfiguration is a significant strategy to enhance the resiliences of distribution systems against contingencies. This paper proposes a two-stage robust network reconfiguration model to maximize the power supply under the uncertain failures of ...

An Efficient Stochastic Reconfiguration Model for Distribution Systems With Uncertain Loads

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Active power losses of distribution systems are higher than transmission ones, in which these losses affect the distribution operational costs directly.

Evolution of Network Architecture in a Granular Material Under Compression

open access: yes, 2016
As a granular material is compressed, the particles and forces within the system arrange to form complex and heterogeneous collective structures. Force chains are a prime example of such structures, and are thought to constrain bulk properties such as ...

Optimal Phase Swapping in Low Voltage Distribution Networks Based on Smart Meter Data and Optimization Heuristics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper a modified version of the Harmony Search algorithm is proposed as a novel tool for phase swapping in Low Voltage Distribution Networks where the objective is to determine to which phase each load should be connected in order to reduce the ...

Selective and Precise Editing of Digital Polymers Through Parallel or Series Toehold‐Mediated Strand Displacement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A sequence‐encoded supramolecular construct containing two accessible toeholds is developed herein for enabling multiple editing operations. By introducing specific input strands, it is possible to selectively erase or rewrite digital content through parallel or series toehold‐mediated strand displacement (PTMSD or STMSD).
