High pressure torsion (HPT) is one of the successful and efficient methods of severe plastic deformation (SPD). In this research, disk-shaped specimens of aluminum alloy were exposed to high pressure and torsion, which are the key factors of HPT. Simultaneously applying high pressure and torsion causes shear strain and thus enhancement of mechanical ...

Modeling and Control of Cutter Vibration in the Presence of Random Distribution of Microhardness of Workpiece and Nonlinear Cutting Forces in Lathe Process [PDF]
This work presents a comprehensive approach to the control of tool's position, in the presence of machine tool structure vibration, nonlinear cutting force, and random tool vibration due to random distribution of microhardness of workpiece material. The controller is combination of Proportional and linear quadratic gaussian- (P-LQG-) type constructed ...

Synthesis, Microstructural Characterization and Microhardness of AlCoNi-SiC Composite Prepared by Mechanical Alloying [PDF]
Equiatomic AlCoNi alloy matrix were reinforced by the dispersion of SiC nanoparticles (SiCnp) using the mechanical alloying process. The metallic powders were milled for 10, 20 and 30 h and sintered at 1200 0C under vacuum.
